Destination (mountain): Mt. Laoshan(1132.7m), Sangdong, China,

Hiking course: Mountain Gate Squire – Limen Gate – Lingqi Gorge – Xumen Gate – Xiantian Bridge – Luhe Pavilion (U-turn to the Square) (4 hour-hike)

Partner: 30 AhToSan members and Mr. Matsumoto

After having lunch, we took the shuttle bus to Mt. Laoshan. There were many carvings and sculptures on the both sides of the road. The bus went up to 800 meters high and we got off at the square.

It was raining a little bit at the beginning, but it soon lit up.



There was a ropeway facility, but we all walked to the mountain. Actually, Mt. Laoshan is quite a big mountain, and it takes a whole day if we walked the full course.

The trails of Mt. Laoshan were all made of stone steps, just like Mt. Taishan. However, the landscapes of Laoshan were more natural than those of Taishan. There were no peddlers at all on Mt. Laoshan.

We could see cherry blossoms in full bloom. I also noticed “yellow”violets here and there.

At beginning, I was rather slow. As I walked up, I could catch up with the main group of AhToSan. Mt. Matsumoto always walked by me.

When we reached at Xiantian Bridge, we joined the main group. Then we had a little rest at Luhe Pavillion. Mr. Matsumoto and I drank Qingdao beer and coffee there. It was about 3:30 p.m. (We began walking at 1 p.m.)

We walked down exactly the same way. I usually good at downslope hike. So we could came back to the squre at 4:50 p.m. The last member came down at 5:10 p.m.

Later, I heard that those who came down late went much further than we did . No wonder they were late. I wish I could come here again in the future, and walk the full course of this beautiful mountain.

We came down by the shuttle bus and had supper at the same restaurant as we had lunch. After having supper, we went to the last hotel, “Century Cultre Hotel.”

The grade of the hotel is 4 stars, yet we had to submit all our passports. It was a bit surprise for me. They say if there were any trouble with the hotel, they keep our passports, unless we follow their demand.

The hike was my 28th hike for this year. As for the AhToSan regular hike registration, same as Taishan, it was my 238th hike with AhToSan.

昼食は廬山のふもとの第2中学前の食堂で中華料理。出された料理はみなうまくてよく食べた。

昼食後、廬山行きのシャトルバスに乗り換え、海抜800メートル地点までバスで上がった。この道路沿いには見事な彫刻が多数ある。

そこはロープウェーの下駅にもなっていたが、我々はロープウェーは使わず、徒歩で登山開始。

崂山のハイキングコースはループ状だが、一周すると一日コースなので、それはあきらめ、３分の１ほど登って、戻ってくるコースにした。



崂山の登山路も泰山同様階段ばかりだが、景観は崂山の方が良い。道の両側には桜が咲き、きれいだ。足元には黄色いスミレがよく目についた。

当初の登りは遅れ気味だったが、途中から本隊に追いつき、前後しながら進んだ。

先天橋を過ぎて一方交通の展望台(六合亭)で大団体になり、間食休憩をとった。松本さんと私は持参した青島ビールとコーヒーを飲んだ。

ここからの下りは泰山同様、楽勝で下った。松本さんはロープウェイに乗りたがったが、こちらは4時で営業終了だった。

ガイドが待つシャトルバス乗り場には4時50分に到着。他のメンバーを待つ時間の余裕がたっぷりあったので、周囲の写真も撮ったし、他のメンバーの写真も撮った。

最後に降りてきたのはトワ夫婦とカッチで、彼らは半周地点の展望台まで進んだと言う。さすがというほかはない。

シャトルバスで崂山から下り、昼食をとった同じレストランで夕食を食べた。

夕食後、バスでホテルへ移動。ホテル名は「世紀文華酒店」で青島の海岸近く。できて1年ほどの新しいホテルで施設もよく、室内も広い。しかし、全員のパスポートをとりあげて預けなければならないと言うのは驚いた。

今回の半日コースの登山は今年28回目、アトサンの定期登山は238回目で、前回と変わらず。

Hiking course: Taishan Cluture Square – Hongmen (Red Gate) – Zhongtianmen (Middle Heaven Gate) – Nantianmen (South Heaven Gate) – Tianjie (Sky Town) – Yuhuangdian (Top Shrine) --- (Going down the same trail)---Middle Gate – (Shuttle Bus)—Bus Terminal

Partner: 30 Koreans and two Chinese guides and Mr. Matsumoto

Wake-up call rang at 6 p.m. Mr. Matsumoto and I prepared for check-out and had breakfast at 6:45. It was a buffet style breakfast and we enjoyed the delicious food.

The bus left at the hotel at 7:30, and we soon arrived at the Culture Square where we began walking.

They gave us a lunch box and two bottles of water for each. A young guide named “Woo Longlong” came to see us with a flag with her hand. She is 22 years old, fresh out of college.

The stone trail was covered with acacia flowers, and there were many sightseers and hikers there. The guide bought tickets at “Red Gate” and we began climbing 7,000 steps one by one.

It was a cloudy day, yet humid and I soon began swetting a lot. Mr. Matsumoto always walked ahead of me, and he kindly waited for me. Soon, I lost the sight of most of AhToSan hikers, but only a few members, such as Mr. & Mrs. KS and “Kkachi.”

When we arrived at “Middle Heaven Gate” we tried to catch other members. We waited for a little, but soon, gave up. We decided to go ahead by ourselves and began climbing the steps on the ride side from the shuttle bus-stop.

Along the steps, they were selling cold cucumbers and tomatoes and watermelons. They looked delicious, but did not buy any.

The steps from Middle Heaven Gate to South Heaven Gate were very steep. I saw two little kids were sitting on the bamboo stick which two men were carrying.

When we arrived at “South Heaven Gate,” one of AhToSan staff members, “Upo” was waiting for us and indicated to turn left there.

There was a public toilet, and we sat on the hill on the other side of “Tianjie (天街)” or “Sky Town.”

There were a lot of “Tulipa edulis” blooming around there. We had lunch sitting there.

Then one by one, AhToSan hikers arrived and joined us. There were the guide with the main group. So I realized that Mr. Matsumoto and I were in the top group.

Some of AhToSan group rode the rope-way from Middle Heaven Gate to South Heaven Gate. Since they had to wait for their turn, they were the last group.

After lunch, we all gathered in front of the gate of “Tianjie” or “Sky Town” at 2 p.m. Mr. Kim, the main guide, estimated that one hour was enough to make a round trip to the main shrine“玉皇頂(Yuhuangding)” and we began to stroll separately.

Mr. Matsumoto and I walked together. Since it was my 2nd time to visit here, it was not new to me at all. We arrived at the shrine at around 2:30. There were a lot of “locks”at the shrine. These “locks” might to be locked by a lot of couples as their sweet memories.

After visiting the main shrine on the top of the mountain, we came down via a“Confucian temple.” We came back to the gate of “Heaven Town” before 3 p.m., but most of AhToSan members came back after 3 p.m.

Later, I found out that they went farther to another peak called“日観峰 (Rekanfeng)” where a meteorological observatory was. No wonder it took so much time.

We began decending from Tianjie at 3:20 p.m. We went down much faster and came down to Middle Heaven Gate at 4:00, then we took a shuttle bus to the terminal.

Our bus came to pick us up at the square, and we arrived at the 2nd hotel“斎都大酒店,” and had a gorgeous dinner.”

It was my 27th hike for this year and my 238th regular hike with AhToSan members.

6時にモーニングコール。6時45分に荷物を持って２Fのレストランへ行き朝食。ブッフェスタイルでたっぷりと食べた。

バスの出発は7時半。8時にはバスを降りて泰山文化広場前の登り口へ向かう。弁当1個と水を2本ずつ渡される。泰山のガイドには22歳で去年大学を卒業したと言うえくぼのかわいい「付容容(ウー・ロンロン)」が先導した。

アカシヤの花が歩道に散っていた。参道は多くの観光客でにぎわい、紅門でまとまって入場した後、すぐにアトサンの仲間を見失ってしまった。

KSやカッチらとロープウェイの発着所がある中天門に着いた時、ガイドや総務の姿が見えず、登り参道を迷ったが、シャトルバスの右横の参道を登ることにして進んだ。

ここから頂上へ続く階段はすべて見覚えのある階段。朝からずっと曇りで、直射日光はなかったが、石の階段を一歩一歩登るごとに汗がしたたり落ちる。

道の両側ではきゅうりとトマトとスイカを売っているが、いっさい買わずにひたすら登った。頂上の南天門にはウッポがいて、アトサンの会員を左側のトイレの上の丘へ誘導していた。

この部分も記憶がある。しかしこの丘には「アマナ」が一面咲いていた。ここの階段に座って弁当を食べた。

ガイドを始め、本隊はわれわれよりずっと後にいたらしく、松本さんと私が弁当を食べ終わったころ到着した。我々はしらずしらずのうちにトップグループといっしょに歩いたことになる。

ここはケーブルに乗ってくる連中との合流点で、さらに頂上の玉皇頂には往復1時間の距離。「金九州」さんも合流して、売店の前に2時にいったん集合した。

ここから頂上まではバラバラに進み、売店に戻ってくる時間を3時と決めた。松本さんと私は悠々自適のペースで登り、頂上の廟から孔子廟へおりる自然道を歩いたが、売店に戻ったのは2時50分でトップだった。(大部分は気象台の建物がある日観峰へ向かったということは後で知った。道理でみんなが遅いわけだ。)

ここで、350ccの青島ビールを15元で2本買い、10元で買ったトマトをつまみに飲んだ。アトサンの大半は3時になっても戻らず、最後に会長が3時15分に戻ってきた。

ここから、中天門のシャトルバスの発着場までの下りは快調で、4時過ぎには到着。シャトルバスで下った後、龍の彫り物が並ぶ広場で大型バスの来るのを待ち、その後、2泊目のホテル「斎都大酒店」および夕食会場へ向かった。

夕食は豪華な中華料理。今回は体調も良く、食も進む。ガイドが「足マッサージ」が2万ウォンでできると言うが、必要なかった。

今回のハイキングは今年27回目、アトサンの定期登山に参加するのはこれで238回目である。
