141211 The 5th visit on Korea in the year of 2014: The 1st day, Seoul to Deajeon by KTX, then attending “Stammtish"

Travel Date: Dec. 11 (Thu) Cloudy, occasional rain.

Itinerary: Ofuna → Tokyo → Narita → Incheon → Daejeon (Attending “Stammtsich”) →Hanpit Apart (Marta’s apt.)

This is my 5th visit on Korea after returning to Japan on April 1, 2014.

The itinerary of this trip was below (5 nights 6 days)

The 1 st day (12/11) From Narita to Incheon, then to Daejeon via Seoul by KTX, Attending “Stamtisch.”

The 2nd day (12/12) Clibing “Stonggol” alone.

The 3rd day (12/13) Joining Ahtosan’s hike on “Waryongsan” in Sacheon, GangNam Province).

The 4th day (12/14) Joining Teacheonhikers’ hike on Mt. Gyeryong.

The 5th day (12/15) Seeing the movie in the morning, then visit a friend at a hospital in Daejeon.

The 6th day (12/16) Returning to Japan

On the first day of this trip, Dec. 11, I got up at 3 am. I measured my blood presser and sugar rate. They were: 120 – 70 and 120mg/dl. I was assured that my health condition was not bad.

I borrowed a little larger suitcase from my wife, because I needed more clothes and gears for climbing mountains . I had to check-in the bag at the airline counter.

My wife drove me to Ofuna Station and I took 8:59 train to Tokyo, then took Keisei bus to Narita (900 yen).

It was a smooth flight and soon after arriving at Incheon Airport, I took Airport Rail and went to Seoul Station.

I saw Seunghye, my old Korean friend, and Marta, my Ukraine friend in the past decade. Marta was planning to visit Japan this month with her Korean husband, so she happened to visit Seoul from Daejeon that day.

I had supper at a restaurant at Seoul Station with Seungye. Actually, Seounghye bought my supper and she did not have supper because she wanted to have supper with her daughter at home.

I was always my pleasure to talk with her since we had been good friends since 1980s. Marta went shopping while we were at the restaurant.

However, Marta and I took the same train (KTX) to Daejeon from Seoul. I enjoyed her accompany on the train. She showed a youtube movie of her daughter in Ukurain. Her daughter, Hanna was very cute dancing on the stage.

It took an hour from Seoul to Daejeon by KTX. We hurried to the place for Stammtisch meeting that evening. It was a restaurant called “Pleasure” near Governent Complex in Daejeon.

Since I already had supper at Seoul, I ordered salad, but it came with some bread. They were nice.

Members of Stammtsch gathered at Pleasure that night were: Nancy (US), Amy (US), Oksana (Ukraine) and Sue (Korean lady.)

Sue works at Daejeon City Government, and learning English by Marta. She talked about a Japanese who came to her hometown several years ago.

Her story was intriguing and I felt like listening more. But I could not fully understand her story.

When BJ, Marta’s husband came to the “Pleasure” it was after 10 am. So, we said go bye to others, and Marta and BJ took me to their apartment by BJ’s car. BJ treated me special beer, and then I went to sleep soon after a sip.

今回の訪韓日程は下記のとおり：

第1日目(12/11、木) 成田→仁川→(KTX)大田、「スタムティッシュ」

第2日目(12/12、金) ストンコル単独登山

第3日目(12/13)、土) アトサン登山 慶尚南道 泗川市 臥龍山(경남사천 와룡산)

第4日目(12/14、日) 午前「ハンピ教会」午後「大田ハイカーズと登山「鶏龍山(계룡산)」

第5日目(12/15、月)午前、映画鑑賞、午後入院中の知人訪問

第6日目(12/16、火)帰国、大田→仁川→成田

「帰国以来5回目の訪韓の第1日目：スタムティッシュ出席」

3時に起床。起きたてに血圧を測ると高い(180台-90台)が、入浴後にはかると120-70と理想的だ。血糖値も120mgとまあまあだ。

トランクはいつものキャリアバッグでは40リットルのバッグがどうしても入らない。妻の2番目のバッグがちょうどよいが、機内持ち込みには無理なようだ。

しかし、サイズはこれでぴったりだ。今回は冬山装備なので仕方ない。持参するのはスティック、スパッツ、アイゼン、大手袋、マスク、900ミリの山用サーモスなど。スンへと美貞へのプレゼントのオルゴールも入れた。

大船駅まで妻に車で送ってもらい、8:59の上り電車で、東京駅には9:50に着いた。10:20のバスの予約だったが、10時ジャストのバスに乗れた。(京成バス、事前ネット予約900円)

仁川空港到着後、空港鉄道で仁川からソウル駅へ向かった。4時にソウル駅に到着し、すぐにソウルの友人スンへとテジョンの私の友人でソウルに来ていたウクライナ人マルタとソウル駅構内のロッテリアで会った。KTXは6:40発の普通席をマルタと並んでとった。

マルタは買い物にでかけ、スンへと階上の食堂へ行った。スンへは1980年代からの友人だが、彼女は夕食は自宅で娘と約束しているからと言って、私の分の焼き飯をおごってくれた。

大田までのKTXの1時間はマルタのPCを観ながら楽しく過ごした。ハンナが「キツネダンス」を踊る様子の動画が面白かった。あとはBJと彼の母が彼女の故郷を訪ねた時の写真が主だった。

ウクライナへ遊びに来いとはいうものの、まあ、飛行機代次第でアフォーダブルなら可能だろう。

大田駅からスタムティッシュの開催される「プレジャー」まではタクシーを使った。場所は政府庁舎のそばで、どうもスターゲイトビルの裏のようだ。

夕食はソウル駅で焼き飯を食べたので、腹は減っていなかったが、サラダを頼んだら、パンもついてきた。

集まったのはナンシーとエイミー、ウクライナ人のオクサナ、それに韓国人のエイミーとハンナが個人教授をしている韓国人のスー(姜恩洙강은수)が来た。

彼女は市庁で働く公務員で、英語は初心者のようだ。彼女の故郷に日本人のボランティアが来て土木作業をしていたようだが、詳しいことはわからない。

会合は10時ごろまで続き、終了後、BJが車で迎えに来た。BJは博士号を取るためのクラスがある日だったので来るのが遅くなったようだ。

彼らのアパートへ行くと、とっておきのビールを出してくれたが寝るのは遅くなった。

141203 Class Reunion of Middle School at Senzan (中学校の同窓会중학교 동창회)

Date: Dec. 3, 2014 (Wed) Fine

Place: Senzan, Ofuna, Kamakura-shi,

I went to Ofuna Middle (Junior High) School from April 1960 to March 1963.

My father got a stroke and had been hospitalized these days. My mother was working as a cleaning woman at Ofuna telephone office. As a home environment, it was not very good.

Yet, I liked reading books those days, and I was in charge of library together with “M” whom I used to admire.

I had five elder sisters, but no one went to high school. But my parents wanted me to go to high school, so I relatively studied hard these days.

Anyway, it was a class reunion after the graduation, half-century ago. I was extremely happy, when I saw the “M”.

When I arrived at “Senzan” before 1 pm. Soon a graceful lady came to the place. I could not see who she was. But soon I realized it was “M.”

Another beauty, “S”came along. I recognized “S”easily, because she has not changed much.

Now “S” got married and living in Hokkaido, the northern most island in Japan.

Another pleasure for me, was Mr. Y who was very popular among girls then. He was handsome and sharp, but now he has been retired like most of male classmates.

“M” told me that we went to the ice-skate link in Yokohama. I remembered that happy occasion.

Although my family conditions were not so good these days, yet I had sweet memories, that I should thank God for it.

According to the record, it was the 4th class reunions all together. Among all 4 reunion occasions, I missed only once (when I was in Korea).

I hope we all have happy evening days of our lives.

行事名：大船中学3年10組の同窓会。

場所：大船「せんざん」(モノレール駅前2F)

私の中学時代は1960年4月から1963年3月までの間だ。この間、父は何度目かの脳卒中のため大船中央病院へ入院し、母は大船電話局の掃除婦として家計を支えていた。家庭的にはあまり明るい環境ではなかった。

しかし、情緒的には文学を好み、センチメンタルなものに惹かれる思春期の少年であったように思う。

五人の姉に続いて生まれた末っ子長男であったが、姉たちが行けなかった「高校進学」を目指してそれなりに学んだ時期でもあった。

今回の同窓会は卒業以来半世紀ぶりに会えた人がいて、しかもそれが私が淡い気持ちを抱いた相手だったのでうれしかった。

会場の「せんざん」には1時前に到着。入るとすぐに美しい女性。挨拶をするとなんとその相手だった。

すぐにもう一人の美人・Sも到着。彼女は北海道からわざわざ来たという。考えてみればこちらに親戚もいることだから、そう驚くこともないかもしれない。

今回は2年前の前回より若干すくなかったようだが、男ではかつて仲の良かったYが来たことがうれしい。

クラス一の秀才だったYは我が家へ遊びに来た思い出を話してくれたが、あまり記憶にない。蛇を殺したのは覚えている。

Mは東神奈川のアイススケートリンクへ行った思い出を話してくれたが、そういえば当時一番の親友だったKも交え、行ったかもしれない。

中学の同窓会は平成13年(2001年)6/16のホテル好養が第1回で、平成19年(2007年)12/15の「きじま」のみ不参加で、平成24年(2012年)5/16「ラパットラ」は参加しているから75%の出席率ということになる。

飲み物は途中からビールをやめてウーロン茶割にしたが、アルコールが入るのは同じだ。しかし、今回はカラオケには行かず、喫茶店に入ったので、ふところにも優しい。

141130 “Talk-Show” by Mie Nakao & Asei Machi and Mini-Class Reunion of Elementary School「中尾ミエと町亞聖のトークショー」とミニ小学校の同窓会」

Date: Nov. 20, 2014 (Sun) Fine

Place: Seagull Hall of Yokohama City University and "Warabe" in Ofuna

Ms. Kimiko Hirai, the class president of elementary school 55 years ago, invited her former classmates to the talk-show by Mie Nakao and Asei Machi. Mie Nakao https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mie_Nakao

The talk-show was staged by an NPO called “Friendly Space Kanazawa” which Ms. Hirai is the president.

Five of her classmates including myself, got together at Kanazawa-Hakkei station of Keihinkyuko at 1:30 am, and we walked through the campas of Yokohama City University.

The autumn color of ginkgo leaves were beautiful that day. The talk-show was held at Seagull Hall of Yokohama City University.

We all enjoyed the talk show by Mie Nakao and Asei Machi. Ms. Machi is the auther of “Junen Kaigo (十年介護)” or “Ten year-Caring” of her own mother based on her own experience.

Mie Nakao was a famous singer in 1960s and 1970s. So she sang one of her best-hit song named “My Little Baby.”

After the talk-show, we saw Mie Nakao privately when she was selling her CDs.

Then we had a mini-class reunion in Ofuna.

As the organizer, Kimiko had to do after-the-event business, so she could not join us, but we enjoyed casual talk among us with nice Korean style barbecue and drinks.

The name of the restaurant was “Snack Warabeスナック『童』” but actually they serve alcohol beverage like “sake” or “choju(焼酎)” so it was more like “bar”.

We really enjoyed eating and drinking until 7:30 pm.

Barbecue meats were all tasty, but comparing “real” Korean barbecue, they served little vegetable. We drank mostly shoju (distilled spirits) made from sweet potato (Mitake三岳) and buckwheat (Yamaneko山猫).

行事名：「中尾ミエと町亞聖のトークショー」＋「小学校のミニ同窓会」

小学校の同級生で、かつて級長であった角田(平井)紀美子さんが会長を務める「フレンドリースペース」が主催する中尾ミエと町亞聖の二人のトークショーを聴きに金沢八景へ向かった。

集合場所は、京浜急行金沢八景駅前で集合時間は1時半だったが、逗子経由で1時前に着いてしまい、まだ誰も来ていない。

キンドルで読書しつつ時間をつぶしたが、午後1時20分に、勉ちゃん、民ちゃん、相良君、恵子さんがそれぞれ到着した。

五人そろったところで、会場の横浜市大のシーガル会館へ向かって歩いた。横浜市大のキャンパスの銀杏並木は黄葉がまっさかりで、見ものだった。

中尾ミエと町亞聖のトークショーは漫才のように面白かったが、聞きようによっては中尾ミエのスター意識が鼻持ちならない傲慢にも見える。

最後に自分のCDを2500円で売って地蔵を作って被災地に送るというのはクリスチャンの立場からは考えられない発想だが、一般の良心的日本人ではまったく違和感のないことなのだろう。

トークショーは3時半には終わり、紀美子さんには会場の出口で会ったが、そこで別れ、残りの5人は大船に向かった。

大船では勉ちゃんの甥がやっている焼き肉スナック「童」へ向かった。

ちょうど開店する直前で、非常に繁盛しているスナックだったが、我々5人は延々と7時半までミニ同窓会を続けた。

焼き肉はじつにうまいが、野菜が少ない。飲み物は最初だけビールであとは芋焼酎の三岳と麦焼酎の山猫にした。
