Itinerary: Daejeon – Chonan – Inchon →Qingdao
Partners: 30 Koreans and Mr. Matsumoto
Mr. Matsumoto and I had breakfast at a nearby restaurant named “Totamkol.” We had “Tubu Chige” set dishes.
After having breakfast, I guided Mr. Matsumoto for my daily hike to nearby mountain. It is just 2 km course (4 km for a round trip). There are exercise facilities along the trail so I can exercise for musle training such as sit-ups, “air-walk”, chin-ups, and push-ups every day.
I found “Iris rossii Baker” along the trail that morning and showed that flower to Mr. Matsumoto. He also liked this cute flower.
We took a regular bus to Stargate Building, then walked to the South Gate Parking Lot at 10:20. The chartered bus was already there. After putting our language, we had a leisurely walk in Daejeon arboretum. We could enjoy seeing many plants and flowers there.
We left the parking lot at 11 a.m. We had lunch at Chonan Service Area.
On the bus, we had award ceremony for Hongjin for becoming “Best Member.” They alos introduced “Haochongsan,” the first president of AhToSan (Sep. 2004 to Sep. 2005).
We arrived at the international terminal of Inchon Harbor at 3 p.m. We went on board at 4 p.m. Before leaving the harbar, we began a kind of “pre-travel” party on the deck.

We had “suyuk” or “boild pork” as the main “Anju” or “side-dish.” As for alchohol beverage, we had Makkgeolli, soju, and beer. It was a fine day, and we really enjoyed the party.
The dinner was from 6:40 p.m. I had supper with Mr. Matsumoto and “Garyonbong.” Garyonbong” graduated from a university in Japan. He once worked for Toshiba in Tokyo. He even had a business experience (running a barbecue restaurant) in Japan. Therefore he speaks Japanese.
He now owns a successful chain-bakeries in Korea. He says he does not need to work any more. His employess work for him. So, he can enjoy his life as much as he likes.
We went out to the deck after the dinner. Then I spoke to a couple of Westerners. They said they were Daniel and Laura. They are from Sheffield, UK. Garyonbong said one of his 3 children is now studying at Sheffield, UK. What a coincidence!
Daniel and Laura are to go to Beijing to teach English there. Garyonbong’s another kid is studying at Brisbane, Australia, and another kid is studying Tsukuba, Japan. His wife, too, is living in Brisbane. Therefore, he needs to send 10 million won abroad every year. Wow, what a big money!
The ship left the harbar at around 9 p.m. They had fireworks, but I did not know it, because I was already sleepting at that time.
