We came back from Nagano (Jigokudani; Snow Monkey Park), Kikko suggested that we should go to Enoshima. She sait that it would be nice to see Mt. Fuji from Enoshima. So, she drove us to Enoshima Beach.

She was right! We could see a beautiful silhouette of Mt. Fuji from the beach.

We walked across the Enoshiba Bridge while seeing the silhouette of Mt. Fuji.

When we arrived at the other side of the bridge, (Enoshima-side), the sun was setting in the shadow of the mountain (Mt. Hakone.)

Tracey and I walked toward Enoshima Shrine, but there was a long line of people at the main gate of the shrine.

They were sightseerings who were to buy special new year talisman.

We were not interested in buying such charms. Wo we took escarators from the main gate of Enoshima Shrine to the top of the island.

As long as I remember, it was my first experience to visit Enoshima at night. The light-up of the lighthouse and the garden in front of the lighthouse was fantastic and beautiful.

We enjoyed the light-up and the scenery and walked down to the bottom of the island.

When we arrived at the edge of the bridge, I noticed a local bus bound for Ofuna, which was about to leave Enoshima.

We took the bus and went back to Ofuna by bus.

At 10:40 pm that night, we left Ofuna and headed for Tsuruoka, Yamagata Prefecture, my wife’s home town.

長野・地獄谷のスノーマンキーを見る旅から帰って、大船の自宅へ着いたのは3時ごろ。

旅の荷物を家へおいてから、喜久子に車で江ノ島海岸へ連れて行ってもらった。彼女のおすすめは日没の富士山。

予想通り、ちょうど日没の頃で良く晴れていたため、富士山が良く見えた。片瀬江ノ島海岸側で見た富士山は絶景だった。

橋を渡り切ったころちょうど日没となり、灯台やその周りがライトアップされてきれいだった。

江の島神社は正月の札を買う人の行列が長く、エスカレーターの方はガラガラだったので、エスカレーターを使って島の上へ行った。

江の島は何度も来ているがライトアップを見るのは初めてでなかなかよかった。ライトアップされた灯台はなんとなくタコを思わせる。また、植物園の前の公園も木々がライトアップされて美しかった。

下へ降りるとちょうど大船行きのバスが停まっていたのでそれに乗り、大船へ戻った。

公衆電話で喜久子に迎えに来てもらい、家へ戻った。その後、10:40に家を出て、喜久子の弟の茨城県の進さんの家へ向かった。

この後、茨城県神立で進さんのワゴン車に乗り換え、進さんの運転で山形県へ向かった。
