141215 Movie and Lunch and Dinner Party with DJSG in Daejeon

It was the 5th day and last night in Korea in 2014. I went to Lotte Cinema in the morning and bought a ticket of “Interstellar”.

It was a Hollywood/UK SF movie and released only one month ago in USA. I could enjoy this brand-new movie with the cost of discounted 5000 won (about 500 yen or 5 dollars.)

The sound was in English and super-impose was in Hangul, and I could barely understand the story and I needed to confirm my understanding by checking Wikipedia in Japanese.

The end of the story, there was a scene that the astronaut met her own daughter who became very old lady, which reminded me of Japanese old story “Taro Urashima.”

After seeing the movie, I went to a Korean noodle shop and had “Kalguksu”.

It contains a lot of oysters and noodle. It was hot and spicy and good for cold weather.

In the past, a lady whose nick name is “Mindulle 민들레(meaning dandelion)” often held a luncheon party together with other people, but I heard that she had been involved with an traffic accident and had been hospitalized. So I visited her at the hospital.

I also visited a branch office of SK Telecom to“stop service” for my Korean cellular phone. Fortunately all these places were within my “walking distance” so no need to use any public transportation.

When it became dark, in the evening, I went to see my Korean friends who were studying Japanese.

They held a dinner party and their present Japanese teacher, Mr. K was also invited.

Now they finished a Japanese novel, and studying a script of “Hotaruno Hikari(ホタルノヒカリ).”

“Hotaruno Hikari” was originally written as “Manga” but they made a TV drama and a movie based on the story.

This reminded me of my Hangul study experience more than a dicade ago. “Yokohama Hangul Club” studied “Moraeshige (모래시계 or Sand-glass) late 1990s.

It was a TV drama series broadcasted in 1995, and it was very popular in Korea, It was before “Hanryu韓流” boom in Japan.

It was my last night in Korea, in 2014, and I went back to Japan early next morning.

2014年4月1日に日本へ帰国して以来、訪韓の5日目は午前中は映画鑑賞、午後は韓国のケータイの手続き、夕方はテジョン日本語スタディ・グループとの会食というパターンが続いている。

今回の映画鑑賞は2014年11月に米国で封切されたばかりの「インターステラー(星の間)」というSFストーリだ。[早朝割引・敬老割引で料金は5000ウオン(約500円)]

現在の科学水準の粋を集めたようなSF映画で、私の英語力ではよく理解するには荷が重いが、韓国語のキャプションの助けもかりてなんとか筋は追えたようだ。

主演の女性宇宙士が地球へ帰還すると自分の体験した年月は数年なのに、地球では何十年も経過していて、自分の娘がおばあさんになっていたというハリウッド版のウラシマ物語であるのが印象に残った。

昼食は映画館の近くの韓国式うどんともいうべき「カルグクス(칼국수)」を食べた。これはアツアツの麺料理で、むき身のカキ(굴)がたくさん入って6000ウォンである。

昼食はこれまでアトサンの一部の会員と会食することが多かったが、今回はいつも音頭をとってくれる「たんぽぽ(민들레님)」さんが交通事故に遭い、入院中だったので昼食後、彼女の病院を訪ねてお見舞いした。

ケータイ電話の停止手続きは地下鉄炭房駅の近くのSKテレコムのテジョン支社で行った。

映画館も病院もSKテレコムも歩いて回れる距離であるので歩いたが、かなり時間はかかった。距離にすると5-6 kmぐらいになるかもしれない。

夕方は屯山日本語スタディ・グループの会食に招かれた。この日のメインディッシュは「スユク(熟肉)」と呼ばれる料理で、豚肉を茹でたものを薄く切って、野菜と味噌などといっしょに食べる。

また、この日は今回は現在、日本語を教えておられるK先生も出席され、現在使用している教材も見せてもらった。

教材のタイトルは「ホタルノヒカリ」で、これは日本の漫画を基にしたテレビドラマ及び映画のタイトルなので、この脚本を教材にしているようだ。

私も横浜ハングルの会で、1995年に韓国で放映された砂時計모래시계という韓国のテレビドラマで韓国語を勉強したことがある。

このドラマでは1980年に起こった光州事件のNHKの映像も使われていて当時話題になった。

出演人物には感情移入して涙をこらえながら見た思い出がある。

帰国後五回目になる訪韓も、この夜が最後の晩で、翌日は朝早い飛行機で帰国の途についた。

I went to see a movie in the morning at Lotte Cinema. I saw "The Maze Runner" a new American SF which made me think of decision/determination and courage.

Then I went to Shinseongdong to have lunch with two ladies. The name of the restaurant is Dongrae動来 Cheonfgkjang. The restaurant is located in front of"Citizen Center." Haekyong Parked her care at its parking lot. She said that she had been dancing at this facility after learning social dance from my wife in Japan in spring, 2014.

We had Haemulpajeon, a Korean version of pizza, and Cheongukjang, a Korean version of "Natto Soup" of Japan, smelling like "katto." They were delicious.

Then I went to SK Telecom near Tangbang Subway Station. I noticed the autumn colors in Daejeon and blue sky. Daejeon is really free from natural disaster, I thought.

Then I joined the dinner party with Dunsan Japanese Study Group at Jang Maul in Dunsan dong.

It is close to the City Hall, exit number 7. Eight people came to have dinner including myself.

We had samgyoksal as the main dish, and many side dishes. We spoke Japanese and Korean during the party.

Mr. Min showed a recorded video with his smartphone. On the video, he appeared on the nation wide TV (MBC) as a representative of Korean Police! Wow! So he became a nation-wide "face."

During the party, some members showed an interesting way of drinking their beverage as a couple. They cross their arms with partner's one with a cup, then drink his or her own beverage with their own cup.

I brought "Tokyo Banana" cakes as "omiyage" or gift from Narita Airport. They enjoyed the Japanese cakes, but not much in volume.　When the party was over, I took a group picture on the street at the entrance of the restaurant.

On the way back to Toyoko-inn, I saw an interesting restaurant named "Sushimatsuri" or "SushiFestival" and it was written both in Japanese and Korean.

We promised to see each other in December this year.

2014年の第3回目の訪韓の第5日目(最終日)のイベントである。

ロッテシネマの映画をチェックしてThe Maze Runnerが面白そうだったので9:20から上映されたこの映画を見た。

ちょっとシリアスなSF映画で、かなりの苦労作であるように見えた。テーマは現状を変える勇気を持つか、安楽な現状維持を選択するかという西洋的価値観がみえる哲学のような気がした。

映画は11:20に終わり、タクシーで新城洞の「動来チョングクジャン(청국장)」へ向かった。ヘギョンとマルタが少し遅れて到着し、三人で海鮮チジミ(해물파전)と私はチョングクジャン(청국장)、ヘギョンがテンジャンクク(된장국韓国式みそ汁)、マルタは白ご飯のみを注文して食べた。

この注文は適切でほとんど残すことなくきれいに食べた。食後、ヘギョンはコニュニティ・センターに車をとめていたので、そこから東横インまで送ってくれることになったが、大徳大路を左折するブロックを１つ間違えて、結局政府庁舎前で別れた。

It was the last day of my 9-day Mongolia-Korea Summber Trip.

I saw a Korean movie “ミョンリャン”in the morning. Then Yuna picked me up in front of the theater, and we had lunch together at Dongre Chonggukjang Restaurant in Shinsongdong.

In the evening, I was invited by Dunsan Japanese Study Group for the dinner party.

The restaurant is called “Nolbu Bossam Restaurant near the 2nd exit of Tangbang Subway Station. Mrs. Kaori Hayashiyama was also invited to the party.

I sat between a man and a lady. The man was 23 years old, and the lady was “Dandelion” who also joined Taejonhikers’ hike on Sunday.

The story which a man sat in front of me surprised me a lot. His name is “Sanhyong” and he once live in Tokyo.

He traveled around Hokkaido with his family by bicycle. He said he also traveled in Kyushu.

There were two new faces, but they were not introduced formally so I could not know their names.

Someone said that one of them was the owner of the building which they have classes every Monday and he generously let them use the room for free.

Most of us drank beer, but Gyongmi, a professional folk-song singer, drank soju, without thinning it at all.

The dinner was over at around 9 pm and I went back to the hotel using the subway. Thus my 9th day of the trip was over.

9日間にわたったモンゴル-韓国旅行の最後の日である月曜日は、午前中、李スンシンを主題にした韓国映画を観た。

炭房駅2番出口を出て左側のレストランで、前回通った道だった。日本人では林山かおり先生が参加した。

木村先生は電話で挨拶された。私の両隣は左側が23歳の若者で、右側はヒマワリ姫。トイメンは今回初めて会ったサンヒョンさんで、東京に住んだことがあるという。

なんと家族で北海道をサイクリングしてまわったそうだ。また、九州も旅行した経験があるそうだ。

初めて会う比較的若い男性が二人最後に加わったが、自己紹介などもなかったので名前もわからない。一人はスタディグループに場所を無料で提供してくれている人らしい。

料理はチョッパルを中心にしたもので、肉がなくなるころ野菜がでてくるなどチグハグだった。飲み物はもっぱらビールが多く、キョンミさんだけが焼酎をがんがんやっていた。彼女は民謡歌手だけあって飲むほうも豪傑だ。

林山さんやヒマワリ姫はビールだった。ミンさんも珍しく参加した。飲み会は9時ごろお開きになり、ふたたび地下鉄で政府庁舎へもどった。

This is the 2nd visit on Korea after returning to Japan on April 1st this year.　After staying 2 nights at Marta and BJ's apartment, I stayed two nights at Toyoko-Inn, Government Complex. The hotel fee at Tohoko-Inn includes breakfast. I like their buffet-style breakfast.

Same as the previous visit, my 5th day of the trip started as the visit on the movie theater “Lotte Cinema.”

Seeing the movies is very economical in Korea. Regular ticket costs 10,000 won (about 10 US dollars), but the first showing of the day costs about half.

So, I always visit the theater for the first show, paying about 500 yen.

This time, it was brand new release “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,”It was released on July 11 in USA. It was also released in Japan, but two month later (in Sep. 19).

I really enjoyed the movie. While I was in the theater, I got 3 phone calls from three Korean friends. One was from Ms. Park, my Korean teacher in Japan more than 10 years ago.

I had lunch with her after the movie. She originally comes from Jejudo, and she got Ph. D in Japan. Now she works at Korean Government Complex in Daejeon.

The 2nd call was from Haekyong. She was to visit Japan with me. Her dream was to learn social dance, and she was going to learn social dance from my wife in Japan.

She invited me for dinner. We went to a department store in Daejeon and had “Shabushabu” dinner.

After having dinner, Haekyoung drove me to my hotel, there I met Ms. Park again. Ms. Park and I visited a Japanese study group at Dunsandong.

The Japanese study group called DJSG, I used to attend while I was living in Daejeon. Since I left Korea this April, I visit this group whenever I visit Korea.

This day, my former Korean teacher, Ms. Park attended the class, too.

They were using a Japanese novel “Kitchen”written by Banana Yoshimoto.

There were two new comers. They read the novel and translate into Korean language.

Ms. Park, my former Korean teacher, also read the novel and translated into Korean. She did very well, of course.

The class was over around 9 pm. It was my last night for the 2nd visit of Korea.

朝は5時に起床。7時からホテルの朝食を食べた。東横インは日本の場合と同様、宿泊費は朝食込である。私は東横インのビュッフェスタイルの朝食が好きだ。

さて、毎回、訪韓の5日目の午前中は映画鑑賞である。韓国では最新の映画を入場料500円で鑑賞できるからである。今回は最新のハリウッド映画で猿の惑星：新世紀(ライジング)である。

この映画は 2014年6月28日、第36回モスクワ国際映画祭でクロージング作品としてプレミア上映が行われ、米国では7月11日に公開された。日本では劇場公開日が2014年9月19日なので、なんとその2か月も前に500円で観られるということは素晴らしい。

さて、劇場入場前に携帯電話を振動にして正解。すぐにパク・ソナ先生から電話が入り、続いてチョン・シンリャンおよびヘギョンさんから着信があった。

パク先生とは12時にスターゲイト前で会う約束をし、チョン･シンリャンにはメールを送り、ヘギョンさんとは夕食の約束をした。

映画は11:10に終わり、いったんホテルに戻ってから、再度出直し、パク先生とホンハップ・カルククスを食べた。

久しぶりの味でうまかったが、パク先生は半分以上残した。口に合わないのだろうか。しかも支払いは彼女がした。日本語スタディにも参加すると言うので、再度ホテル前で6:45に会うことにした。

昼食後、地下鉄で「炭坊(탄방)」駅へ行き、STテレコムのカウンターでパスポートを見せて、次の停止期間(7/16-8/9)を決めた。外国人登録番号471104-5200292はまだ使うので忘れてはならない。

ホテルへ戻ってからブログ作業を完成させた。なんと2ヶ月も遅れている。

午後4時20分まで、PC作業をしてから市庁北口と地下鉄の駅を経由してガラリヤへ向かった。

ヘギョンさんとの待ち合わせの場所は９階だった。９階は食堂街でしゃぶしゃぶを食べた。

しゃぶしゃぶは最後のだし汁でつくるかゆがうまい。話が弾んで時間が経つのが早く、6:35になって時間が迫っていることに気づいたが、彼女の車までのアクセスにもたつき、東横インに戻ったのは7時ごろになってしまった。

朴先生は辛抱強く待っていて、ケータイへも電話してこなかった。 東横インで会ってから、徒歩でDJSGへ向かった。結局教室に到着したのは7時過ぎだった。

教室では木村講師が授業を仕切っていて、始めてみる顔が二人、洪さんと、ヤンさんがいた。

教材は文庫本の「キッチン」の最後の小説だった。洪さんは警察官というのでミンさんの紹介かもしれない。ヤンさんは、たぶん60代の主婦と思われる。二人とも会話は得意ではないようだが、読解力は高いようだ。

パク先生も即席で翻訳を担当したがさすがに軽々とこなしたので、みな感心した。ジョンウォンさんから頼まれた本をホテルに忘れたため、ナムさんの車で東横インまで送ってもらい、本をキョンミさんに渡した。

同時に羽田で買った人形のしおりを二人に１つずつプレゼントした。二人と別れてから、東横インのロビーで缶ビールを買い、前日買ったピーナッツをつまみに飲んだ。

海外用に編集された？NHKテレビ放送番組を見た。日本で見た「ためしてがってん」の難聴編だった。
