141001 Travel from Aomori to Toyama (2nd Day of Tohoku-Hokuriku-Kyoto Trip)青森から富山へ(東北・北陸・京都旅行の第２日目)

Travel Itinerary: Aomori – Shin-Aomori – Omiya – Echigoyuzawa – Toyama

Partener: Mr. Sunata (NTT college classmate)

9/30 Ofuna → Tokyo → Shin-Aomori → Sukayu (Climbing Mt. Hakkoda) →　Aomori

10/1 Aomori → Shin-Aomori → Omiya → Echigoyuzawa → Toyama

10/2 Toyama → Tateyama (Cimbing Tateyama) → Kyoto

10/3 Sightseeing in Kyoto → Echigoyuzawa → Omiya → Tokyo → Ofuna

Now this is the 2nd day of my 4 day trip. I traveled with Mr. Sunata from Aomori to Toyama.

Since we got 1000 yen worth coupone, we went to Tohoku Bussankan (Local Produce Center) nearby, after checking out at 9:20 am.

It was a nice place to shop local products, esp. foods, not only sightseeing gift, but even for daily use. I bought a lunch box by 150 yen and some sightseeing gifts including a small attachment for my cellphone.

We took Super Tokkyu (Limited Express) “Hakucho (Swan)” leaving Aomori at 10:13 and changed trains to Shinkansen “Hayabusa” leaving Shin-Aomori at 10:39.

We enjoyed the comfortable Shinkansen ride with a couple of canned beer, and I helped Mr. Sunata’s study of Hangul. Mr. Sunata has been learning Korean language since I took him to Korea previous year.

We changed trains to Joetsu Shinkansen “Max Tanigawa” at Omiya. It was double decker train and we took the seats on the 2nod floor.

It was only 50 minute-ride and we arrived at Echigoyuzawa. There we changed to Supper Tokyu “Hakutaka" and arrived at Tokyama Station at 4:17 pm.

When we walked to JR Toyama Station, I noticed that there were street cars running, and statutes of famous Toyama drug-peddlers. Both of them are nostalgic to me which reminded me of my young days.

Since Mr. Sunata’s home is not very far from Toyama, only I checked in a hotel “Toyoko Inn Toyama, Takaramachi” near the station. We went to a restaurant in Tokyama for the dinner and drinks.

The restaurant was in the underground area. They served fresh fish dishes including mackerel grilled by burner in front of us.

The total cost for the food and drinks for two persons was 4000 yen. I think it was money’s worth dinner. Now we are going to climb Mt. Tateyama next day.

ということで、今回は上記第２項の旅行を記す。

前日は１泊2500円のアベスト青森泊。５時半に起床して朝食は前日コンビニで買ったパンにした。

６時から7時までフロント横のパソコンのLANケーブルを使ってフェイスブックに写真をアップロードした。

7時からは部屋へ戻って昨日の記録をつけてPC作業終了。

9時20分に砂田氏とともにホテルをチェックアウト。クーポンが使える東北物産館へ向かった。

物産館はガラス張りの立派な建物で、東北の名産物が展示即売している。ホテルでもらったクーポン券を使って、絵葉書とケータイの飾り紐を買った。また150円のこぶりの弁当も購入した。地元の食材を使ったもので、おいしくて安い。

青森は10:13のスーパー特急白鳥で新青森へ行き、新青森を10:39発のはやぶさ16号に乗り、大宮まで快適な旅をした。

われわれは缶ビールを2個買って、彼が持参したホタテの干物を食べながら、砂田氏のハングルの勉強に付き合った。

大宮では乗り換え時間4分で、MAX谷川号に乗り換え、2階席で50分間乗車した。

新幹線は越後湯沢までで、ここで在来線の特急はくたか号に乗り換えた。富山駅には16:17に到着した。

富山は東横イン富山駅前宝町にチェックイン。その後、砂田氏と駅前地下の飲み屋で立山登山前の前夜祭をした。

富山駅前で目を引いたのは路面電車と『越後の薬売り』の像だ。私の子供のころだから半世紀前、私の家にも富山の薬売りが定期的にやってきて、家の置き薬を交換してくれたっけ。その時もらえた紙風船のような付録が楽しみだった。

活きの良い鯖を炙った料理など、珍味を食べ、飲んで二人で4000円はリーズナブルな料金だった。さあ、いよいよ明日は百名山の１つ立山だ。
