120318 Mt. Gubongsan(九峰山구봉산), Seogu(西区), Daejeon(大田)

According to the blogsite which enlists 2020 mountains in Korea, there are 7 “Gubongsans” in Korea. Among them, the first one was the mountain we climbed this day.

According to the explanation of the name of the mountain, there are 9 peaks which looked like 9 Chinese phoenixes going back to their nests.

Anyway, I hurried to KAIST main gate parking lot at 1 p.m. after attending the church service in my neighborhood.

There were 3 Koreans, 2 Americans, 1 German, 1 Australian and 1 Japanese.

This time, we started at Seongae Asylum at almost 2 p.m.

We began walking the paved road, then “forest road” which ended at the bottom of iron stairs which leaded to Shinseondae Overvation Deck.

We could see the main peak of Gubongsan from the oversation deck well. After taking our group picture there, we climbed rather steep rocky trail. Mrs. Furst took PiPi in her bag, and I helped her to carry the dog to the top of the next peak.

The next peak was newly facilitated with wooden deck and several exercise facilities.

We arrived at Gubongjeong (gazebo) at 2:40 and I ate my lunch there. Othere members had light snack there. (I was the only one who has not eaten lunch until then.)

We left the gazebo at 3 p.m. and headed toward the last peak called “Neoreok Rock.”We could see the town of “Seogu” in Daejeon very well there.

“Neoreok Rock” was the turning point of this hike. We just simply returned the same trail back to the asylum.

We returned to the parking lot at 4:15, so it was just 2 hours and half hike.

JongMoo drove me back to KAIST and I went to my apartment at 4:50 p.m.

韓国中の主な山々(2020峰)の地名由来が一覧できるブログ「山目録」によると「クボンサン」という峰は全国に７つあり、そのうち漢字が「九峰山」という山は5つある。その第1番目に記載されている「九峰山」が大田広域市西区にある「九峰山」である。高さは264mと低いが、9つの峰が「九鳳帰巣形(九羽の鳳凰が巣へ帰る形)」をしているところから「九鳳山」と呼ばれたという。

日曜午後のハイキングの常として私は礼拝後、いったんワンルームに戻ってから自転車でKAISTへ向かった。

集合したのはジョンム、ファースト夫婦(ジョージとヨンスク)、ジュリ、トレイシー、コニー、ジヨン、ジョニーと私の九人の他、ファースト夫妻の愛犬ピピだった。

車はジョンムのほか、ジョージとジョニーの3台。出発点の聖愛院の駐車場には13:45に着いた。

曇りで風がやや強く陽射しがないため、やや寒かった。九峰山はこれで4回目だが、このコースは最短コースで私は初めてだ。

入り口は聖愛養老院の入口として立派な門柱があり、山に向かって左側にはできたばかりのようなモダンなトイレとゴミ払い用にコンプレッサーがある。どちらもハイカー向けのようだ。

登山路は聖愛院とは反対側の坂道を登るようになっていて途中までは急こう配ながら舗装道路となっている。

舗装の切れた時点からややゆるやかな林道で、四輪駆動なら九峰亭の下の鉄製の急階段の下まで行ける。(実際1台の四輪駆動が階段下に停まっていた。)

鉄製階段を上ったところは展望台と九峰亭のある峰との中間で、我々はいったん展望台(神仙台)に登ってから、ふたたび階段の部分までくだり、それから岩山を登った。

かなり急な岩山をのぼった部分は新たに整備された木製の広場になっていて、運動器具が設置されていた。いつも思うのだが、韓国の山の設備は日本に比べ抜群に良い。

九峰亭に着いたのは14:40で、ここで15分ほど休憩した。私は弁当を広げ、お茶漬けを食べた。

九峰亭を15:00に出発し、九峰山の最後の峰の崖の上で写真を撮ったのは15:18だった。

ここからはただ引き返しただけで、車に戻ったのは16:15。ほぼ2時間半の軽いハイキングだったが、ポイントの多い良いハイキングだった。

ジョンムにKAISTまで送ってもらい、自転車でワンルームに戻ったのは16:50。今年15回目のハイキングである。

120317 Mt. Chungnyongsan祝霊山(チュンニョンサン축령산) in Gyongido(京義道)

Hiking Date:　March 18 (Sat) Rain, then cloudy

Destination (mountain): Mt. Chungnyongsan, Namyangju, Gyongido

Hiking course: Ticket Gate – Rock Spring – Suri Rock – Mt. Chungnyogsan – Hwachaebong – Ticket Gate

Partner: 38 + 3 (from Seoul, including Chris)

It was raining in the morning. Therefore the chartered bus was not full. Yet 3 Seoul members including Chris joined us at the foot of mountain.

We paid 1000 won for the entrance of the mountain.

On the way to the mountain in the bus, we had Best Member Reward for two members, one was a male member “Jeongsangjeongbok” which means “conquest of the mountain peak” and a female member, “Salang Gadeuk” which means “Full of Love.”

We picked up 3 members from the Seoul at the bus stop of Chungnyongsan.

We arrived at the bus stop at the ticket gate at about 10 a.m. There was a small mountain of ice near the parking lot. So, it was still winter there.

Chris told me that he would marry his girlfriend in September. I promised him to attend his wedding reception in Seoul.

I walked with Chris from the beginning to the last part of the hike, probably 80% of the total time.

When we came out to the ridge, we had the first break for makgeolli and fruits. Chris had a slight cold and he did not drink makgeolli, though.

We arrived at Suri Rock at around 11 a.m. “Suri”comes from “Doksuri” which means “eagle.” They put the rock this name because the shape of the rock looked like an eagle.

From Suri Rock to the top of Chungnyogsan, we had to walk the narrow trails on the rocky ridge.

When we arrived at the top of the mountain, it was 12:18 and I asked one of AhToSan members to take our pictures as “two-shot.”There was a cairn just behind the mark rock and a Korean national flag stood on the hill.

When we passed the top of Chungnyogsan, we faced the frozen down slope. Both of us did not have “climbing irons”and had difficulty to walk safely.

“Cheongjeong” a strong female staff member saw us and lent us a pair of spare climbing irons, so Chris and I took each irons. But it did not fit Chris’hiking boot. So, I wore both ironds and I lent him my stick.

After a while, we decided to have lunch on a rock by ourselves. He brought Korean style of Japanese food, “Oinarisan”which his girlfriend’s mother made for him.

The trails were frozen only around the top of Chungnyogsan, and the rest of the trails were only “muddy.”

We went down to the pass, then we climed up another mountain called “Sorisan.” “Sori” means “Frost,” so “Sorisan” means “Frost Mountain.”

We arrived at the top of “Sorisan” at 2:17 p.m. That was the last peak and we went down from the mountain. Chris went ahead of me, and I was left behind him.

When we came down to the paved road, there was a small strean beside the road. Almost all hikers washed their boots and their hiking gears such as sticks and climbing irons there.

When I came to the stream, Chris was washing his boots there. He returned the stick to me, but it took me rather long time to wash my gears.

I was nearly the last person to arrive at the bus. They were having wrap-up party, and it was almost the end of the party.

We finished the party at 4:10, only 15 minutes later my arrival. The three members from the Seoul took a public bus to go back to Seoul. We came back to Daejeon at 7:30 p.m.

It was my 14th hike for this year and my 272nd AhToSan regular hike.

登山月日：2012年3月17日(土)雨後曇り

登山地：京畿道、南揚州(ナムヤンジュ남양주)の祝霊山(チュンニョンサン축령산)

登山コース：券売場-岩壁薬水-スリパウィ수리바위-祝霊山-霜山(서리산)-花菜峰(화채봉)サムゴリ-券売場 同行者：大田から38人＋現地にてクリスを含む3人の合計41人

ワンルーム出発時は霧雨模様だったが、雨具は持たないで出た。悪天候のためか満席にはならず、バス内では座席を２つ確保した。

今回は入山料1000ウォン追加支払い。バス内ではバナナ2本とドリンク1本配給。また、ケーキ付で背の高い男性と愛嬌のある女性二人のベストメンバー表彰があった。

背の高い男性のニックネームは「チョンサンチョンボック(정상정복)」、女性は「サランカドック(사랑가득)」だった。

現地・登山地に到着する前にソウルから来るバスの祝霊山(チュンニョンサン)停留所があり、そこで、ソウルの3人、チンハンサラムとプリムとクリスをピックアップした。

現地の団体バス駐車場の近くにはホースの水を使って作った氷の彫刻のようなものがあり、その前で記念撮影をしてから出発した。

今日のハイキングは約80%はクリスと同行した。駐車場から登って尾根に出た時点で最初のマッコリタイム。ここで、持参したフルーツを提供。今回も私自身がビリではなかったので多くの会員がブドウとミニトマトを楽しんだ。

トクスリ(독수리黒禿鷲)の頭の形に似ているとから名付けられた「スリパウィ」には11時ごろ到着。

ここからかなり急な岩場をロープを使って登りながら切り立った尾根伝いに祝霊山山頂に着いた。

途中のヘリポートでは大きな横断幕に「始山祭」と書いてある前で、ある山岳会が昼食中だった。この山頂付近からは雪がまだかなり残っていて、山頂を越した反対側は特に雪が凍りついていてアイゼンなしでは危険だっが、今回はアイゼンを用意しなかった。

山頂は12:18で、クリスとツーショット。石標の後ろには人の背より高いケルンがあった。また、太極旗が翻っていた。

山頂を越した狭い場所で先頭Gが昼食中のところに会った。ここでチョンジョンが私にアイゼン1セットを貸してくれた。クリスと１つづつ分け合って履いたが、クリスの足が大きすぎてうまく装着できない。二人のメンバーが別々に手伝ってくれたが、それでもだめで、結局クリスには私のスティックを貸し、私は両足にアイゼンを着けて進むことにした。

クリスと私は狭い岩場で昼食を取った。彼は婚約者の母親が作ってくれたと言う韓国式「お稲荷さん」が弁当で、私にも２つくれた。

祝霊山を越えてしばらく行くと雪は消えたが、道が泥だらけ。泥だらけの登山路を他の仲間の後について進んだが、若い美男・美女のカップルが我々の前後を進んだ。

ソリサン(霜山)山頂で彼らのツーショットを撮った時、少し話をした。若者は近鉄の関連会社で働いていて、日本へ出張することもあるらしい。女性はまだ訪日したことはないという。さわやかなカップルで、私の新婚当時を思い出した。新婚旅行に尾瀬へ行ったとき、我々もこんな感じだったのだろうか。

霜山山頂は14:17で、ここからの下りは前回同様、緩やかな下りだったが、道がぬかるみだったのは前回とはことなる。

途中でザゼンソウのつぼみを２つ見つけた。韓国語では「アンジュンプチェ(앉은부채)」というそうだが、訳すと「座った扇子」という意味だ。言われてみると花弁が開いた扇子のように見えないこともない。

山を下りきって舗装道路へ出た場所に小川があり、みなここで足を洗った。クリスともここで会ったが、私はアイゼンも洗ったりして時間がかかり、舗装道路を下って駐車場に戻ったのは 15:55。

ティップリも終わりに近く、マッコリも切れた時間だった。メニューは豆腐とキムチをいためたもの。ティップリは16:10に切り上げ、ソウル組はバスでソウルへ戻り、我々は大田には7時半ごろ戻った。

120316 Kiyomi of Nova Energy and I (ノヴァエネルギーの清美さんと私)

Kiyomi of "Nova Energy" and I

Place: Busan, GyongNam Province

Peple I met: 1)Kiyomi Suzuki (One of my cousin’s sons), CEO of NOVA ENERGY Co. LTD, 2) Prof. Young Saeng Kim, Advisory Professor, School of Mechanical & Automotive Engineeringnje Kim, 3) Mt. Yangun Yun, CEO of G&C, 4) Mr. Dongon Gang, the vice president of Yactt R&D& Dep.of Gwanndon FRP Industry.

Shinichiro Suzuki, my father was born in 1904 in Hirakata, Kitaibaraki-shi, Ibarki Prefecture. He was born as the 4th son ofn Jin-nosuke Suzuki who was born in 1860, before Meiji Restration.

Jin-nosuke was a ship carpenter of Tateyama in “Boshu” which is the old name of Chiba Prefecture. His name was Jin-nosuke Ajiro and he married Hatsu Suzuki, who was the daughter of “Amimoto,” the boss of fishermen in Hirakata, and took the family name of “Suzuki” after the marriage.

My grandparents, Jin-nosuke and Hatsu had 11 kids (8 boys and 3 daughters) and my father was their 7th child and 4th son. He followed my granpa’s occupation, ship-carpenter, but he left his hometown, and finally settled in Kamakura, where I was born. (My father was also a ship carpenter.)

My parents, Shinichiro and Kuni, had 6 kids including myself, 5 daughters and one son. I used to have 5 elder sisters. (Now two of them passed away.)

Kiyomi also have many siblings, (3 brothers and 2 sisters), and his great-grandfater is my grandfather. He is one of my cousins’ son.

We met each other several times, and when I visited his elder brother, Takashi who was a fisherman at my father’s home town, Hirakata, last summer, I heard of Kiyomi from Takashi.

Hirakata, my father’s hometown, was badly hit by the big earthquake and tsumami on March 11, 2011. Many houses were crashed, and washed away, but worst came after these disasters. It was Fukusima nuclear plants’ accident. The water was contaminated and there was no way to slove this contamination problem even after one year.

Takashi’s business as fisherman and the owner of the boats of amature anglars is out of business now. But I heard a good news about his younger brother, Kiyomi, then.

Kiyomi had been a captain of big ships for dicades and about 10 years ago, he quit his job as a captain and began his won project: generating electricity by utilizing tidal power in Kobe.

Now since Japan experienced 311 disasters, she is eager to find effective alternative enegy. I think this project is worth being successful.

Anyway, he has been seeking coraboration with Korean companies and he already visited Korea more than 40 times!

I took KTX at Daejeon at 7:59 and arrived at Busan at 9:43.(Actual arrival time was delayed for 15 minutes.) I hurried to Toyoko-in Busan Station #2 and met Kiyomi and Prof. Kim and Mr. Yun there.

We went to a coffee shop near Busan Hotel and they had business talk there. Both Mr. Yun and Prof. Kim spoke Japanese fluently, so all of the business talks were carried in Japanese.

We also had lunch at Korean restaurant called “YongBinGwan” and headed for Kwang Dong FRP Industriral Co. which was located in Songjeong-dong, Gangseo-gu, Busan by Mr. Yun’s car.

Kwang Dong FRP is a ship-building company and Kiyomi has ordered to modify the main turbine which they called “Tuna.”

It was necessary to adjust the shape of propellers, and Kiyomi talked with Mr. Gang who was the leader of his project. Both Kiyomi and Mr. Gang spoke English, but complicated matter, they spoke their own language and Mr. Yun interpreted between their conversations.

After the discussion and business talk at Gwang Dong FRP, we went back to “YongBinGwan” for dinner.

Kiyomi is actually working to establish a joint-stock company in Korea now.

If it were successful, he wishes to establish another jointstock company in Singarpore to sell electricity to countries in South East Asia.

I think he is doing “right” job, esp. after the 311 disastor last year.

After dinner, Mr. Yun drove me to Busan station before 7 p.m., but to my surprise, all KTX up to 9 p.m. were sold out. I had to use “Saemaul” which left Busan at 7:30 and arrived at Daejon at 11 p.m.

「ノヴァエネルギー」の清美さんと私

私の父、鈴木新一郎は明治37年(1904年)、茨城県北茨城市平潟の生まれで、兄弟姉妹が多かった。

祖父、網代甚之助は万延元年(1860年)、房州館山の生まれで船大工であったが、北茨城市平潟港の鈴木はつ[明治3年(1870年)]と婚姻婿養子となった。甚之助とはつの間には8男3女が生まれた。

私の父、新一郎は祖父・甚之助が44歳の時の子どもで第7子(四男)だったが、さらに弟が3人いた。私の父、およびすぐ下の弟(私の叔父)の職業も船大工だった。

ちなみに私・泰次(George)は父・新一郎が45歳の時の第6子で長男である(姉が5人いた)。

父の本家は今も北茨城市平潟で、父の兄の一人、鈴木米次郎(甚之助の次男)の孫の代であり、鈴木隆志(1949年生)が釣り船業を営んでいる。

今回の主人公、鈴木清美(1957年生)は、鈴木隆志の弟の一人で、私とは再従兄弟の関係になる。

我々の共通の先祖の故郷である北茨城市平潟港は、東関東大震災のため大きな被害を蒙ったが、いまなお福島原発事故の影響で漁業が壊滅的な被害を受けたままである。

清美さんは若い時、海洋学校で学び、大型船の船長として世界各国を訪れたが、10年前に陸に上がり、潮流を利用した発電のR&Dを始め、2007年に株式会社ノヴァエネルギーを設立した。

清美さんのこのような働きを知ったのは、昨年、夏休みに帰国した時、福島および北茨城の私の親戚を訪ねた時である。上記、平潟港の鈴木隆志さんとの話のなかで彼の弟の活躍を知り、また清美さんとも電話で話をした。

清美さんは韓国の企業とのコラボレーションを進行中で、韓国、特に釜山をしばしば訪れるということだ。

それなら、私も韓国に住んでいるから、清美さんの訪韓のときに久しぶりに旧交を温めようという事になった。

私はこれまで清美さんとは数回会っただけで、直近では彼の双子の娘さんたちが小学校のころ、たぶん15年前に彼の自宅を訪ねて以来の再会である。

この日は朝、7時に家を出て、大田発7:59、釜山着9:43のKTXに乗った。KTXは予定より15分遅れて釜山に到着した。

清美さんとの約束は東横イン釜山駅Ⅱのロビーで10時。約10分遅れて到着すると、仁済大学諮問教授の金さんと、光州のG&C代表のユンさんも到着。ユンさんの会社は発電機の開発担当のようで、金教授は潮汐を利用した発電装置の開発を担当しているようだ。このお二人はどちらも日本語が流暢で、私が通訳する必要はまったくなかった。

この日はあいにくの雨もようであったが、釜山ホテルの近所の喫茶店で打ち合わせ、契約書の交換などを済ませた。

その後、喫茶店のすぐ隣の韓定食専門店「迎賓館」でおいしい韓定食をごちそうになり、その後、4人で潮流発電の最も重要な部分である「マグロタービン」を実際に製作しているクァンドンFRP産業を訪れた。

ここでの対応は産業ヨットR&D次長の肩書を持つカンさんで、専門用語の飛び交う細かい設計の話などはユンさんが通訳した。

私の出る幕はほとんどないのであるが、清美さんの勇壮な夢、まず日韓の合資会社を設立して潮流発電事業を軌道に乗せたら、シンガポールにも合資会社を設立、潮流発電プロジェクトを東南アジアの国々に広げて行くという話はすばらしい。

原発事故の収拾の見通しがなかなか立たない現状で、再生可能エネルギーのエースになる可能性を秘めたプロジェクトは魅力的である。

クァンドンFRP産業の訪問を終えて、「迎賓館」へ戻ったのは4時で、その後、夕食を共にしてから私は釜山を後にした。

7時前に釜山駅に着いたが、週末であったため、上りのKTXの切符が9時まで売り切れだったのは計算外。結局、7時半発のセマウルで大田に着いたのは11時。ワンルームに戻ったのは深夜になってしまった。
