140901 Climbing Mt. Fuji the 5th Time of the year, the failure [2014年5度目の富士山登山：唯一の登頂失敗2014 년 5 번째 후지산 등산 : 유일한 등정 실패]

Date: Sep. 1 2014, (Mon) Cloudy, then rain

Public Transportation: JR Ofuna – JR Kozu – JR Gotemba Station (JR), then Bus to Subashiri Entrance

Hiking Course: Gogome (The 5th Station) to Rokugome (The 6th Station), then return to the bus stop.

Two of my hiking friends were to visit Japan to climb Mt. Fuji. One of them was Bernardo from Mexico, the other was Mario from Germany. They were working in Korea.

Bernardo and I travelled together in Kyushu and Shikoku in September 2010. Mr. Matsumoto, my hiking tutor guided us to the area, and we climbed Mt. Tusugi and Mt. Ishizuchi in Shikoku then.

Mario came to Japan with his wife this summer and I already guided them to Mt. Fuji in August. He liked the mountain very much, so he joined us again.

I planned to guide them to Subashiriguchi one week later. Since I never walked this course, I wanted to check the trail before they came.

The weather forecast was not good. The weatherman predicted that the weather from Sep. 1 to Sep. 2 was B to C to A.

The level of weather condition is valued as A to C from good to bad. I wanted to check these conditions, so I decided to go, even it was “B” on Sep. 1.

I took 10:49 train to Kozu, then changed trains to Gotemba Line and arrived at Gotemba at 12:25. The bus left at 12:40 and arrived at Subashiriguchi 5th Station at 13:40. It was raining all the way.

The sales persons at the shops along the trail invited the hikers to take a rest at their shop, but I did not stop until the unmaned information center in front of the entrance of the trail.

There I checked the operation of lodges, and wore rain gear and then began climbing mountains.

The nature around the 5th station around Subashiriguchi looked much better than Yoshidaguchi. There were many birch trees along the trail. I saw even flowers of aconite (monkshood or blue rocket).

But it was raining hard, and as I climbed up, it became heavier and heavier. Raincoat did not prevent me from getting wet or soaked, esp. my socks in my boots.

I really felt disgusted, so I gave up to climb further at the point of the 6th station.

When I came back to the bus stop at the 5th station, it was 3:30 pm. I had to wait for 50 minutes until the next bus.

So I dropped in the gift shop and sat close to the stove. (It was cold after getting soaked.) While getting warm near the stove, I saw nice TV program about the four seasons in Mt. Fuji.

I bought mushroom tea and Mt. Fuji cookies at the gift shop and took 4:20 bus to Gotemba.

登山口までのアクセス：大船→(JR東海道線)→国府津→(JR御殿場線)→御殿場～須走口五合目(バス)

私が韓国で知り合った山友達の二人が富士山に登るために来日する。一人は10年来のメキシコの友人でベルナルドである。彼は2010年9月の九州四国旅行に続いて2度目である。

もう一人はドイツ人のマリオで、彼は8月に奥さんとともに登ったばかりであるが、再度登りたいと言う。

今回は須走口コースを案内しようと思い、その下見に行くことにした。

この日の富士山の天気の予報は非常に悪い。9/1～2日はB→C→Aだった。[天気を三段階評価でA:最適、B:中程度、C:不適]Bがどの程度のものか試すつもりで出かけた。

大船10:49、国府津乗換え御殿場12:40発のバスに乗り、五合目には13:40に着いた。

バスは最初から最後まで雨の中。五合目もかなりの雨。土産物屋の「一休みしていきませんか」という勧誘を振り切って、無人の情報センターで雨宿りかつ雨具の装備をした。

ここで最新の山小屋情報がわかる。雨具装備後、出発したがすぐにずぶぬれになった。

登山路そのものは白樺・ダケカンバの林の中で、自然が豊富。足元にはトリカブトが咲いていた。

しかし登山路は雨のため小川のようだ。六合目まで上ったが下着までずぶぬれだ。六号目に着いた時間は14:55だからほぼ1時間の悪戦苦闘だった。

悪いペースではなかったかも知れないが、ずぶぬれでは気分が悪い。このような状況で山小屋で7000円払うのはつまらないと思い、きびすを返して下山した。

須走り五合目に戻ったのは15:30で次のバスは16:20。小一時間もあるので山小屋に入って休息した。

無料で休息するのは気が引ける。キノコ茶とクッキーを土産に購入した。

御殿場駅には17:20に戻り、国府津での乗換えが順調で大船には19時に戻った。

今週末の天気予報がCでは登山は無理ではないかと思った。情報センターの黒板では山口屋はすでに閉店していて下記の3つが営業中だった。

DR　#204 New Fiscal Year and New Job and New World

One year passed since I came back to Japan last April.

Since then, I visited Korea one for every two months. I visited Korea 7 times for a year.

Each time, I joined AhToSan and Taejonhikers’ hike.

I also joined “The wilderness experience in Mongolia” in August and “Ten Day Fasting Prayer Meeting” in January 2015, organized by The Dure Church Cloister.

I joined AhToSan’s South Deokyusan hike after the Summer Camp in Mongolia, and the 500th Regular Hike to Mt. Jiri after the 10 day Fasting Prayer.

Now it is the new fiscal year of 2015. I happened to have a new work in my neighborhood.

It is a part time job as a helper to NPO for Day Care Service after School for handicapped kids vary from 7 to 18 years old.

It is a completely new world for me. We support those kids of developmental disorder including autism disorder, cerebral palsy, etc. aging from 7 to 18.

One of my classmates in elementally school, Mr. S has been working for this job as a paid-volunteer and he introduced me to this NPO.

I got job-employment contract with the NPO in April and began to work in the middle of April.

I took two-week holidays from April 30 to May 12 because I joined AhToSan trekking to “Tiger Leaping Gorge” and “Jade Dragon Snow Mountain” in Yunnan Province in China. So this is my 5th week on this work.

It is completely new work for me. Most of the kids have developmental disorder troubles, such as autism disorder and even cerebral palsy disorder. Some of them need diapers.

I also began volunteer work to assist non-Japanese residents to learn Japanese in Yokohama. It is non-paid work, but only once a week, Thursday evening.

As for this work, I guess I could take advantage of my teaching Japanese at Daeteok University in Korea.

I hope I can report some good results about these new works in my next DR.

DR 204号　「2015年新年度：新しい仕事、新しい世界」

この４月で韓国から帰国して１年経過した。この間、２カ月に１度ずつ渡韓、計7回韓国を訪問し、そのたびにアトサン山岳会、テジョンハイカーズのハイキングにも参加した。

8月にはドゥレ修道院が帰国した「モンゴルの荒野体験」のキャンプにも参加し、その帰路に韓国に寄って南徳裕山のトレッキングにも参加した。

2015年1月には昨年３月に続いてドゥレ修道院企画の「十日間の禁食祈祷会」にも参加し、アトサンの節目の第500回定期登山：智異山天王峰(2015.01.24)にも参加した。

そして迎えた2015年度４月から、私は新しい仕事を始めることができた。

私の新しい仕事は障害児のための「放課後ディサービス」のヘルパーである。

これは私の小学校の時の同窓生S君の紹介で４月の第３週から開始した有償ボランティア活動で主催しているNPOとは雇用関係を結んだ。

対象児童は市内の支援学級や看護学校に通う小学生から高校生までで、開所時間は10:00から18:00であり、私はパートタイマーとしてほぼ毎日午後の活動である。

この仕事が決まる前に計画していたアトサンの中国雲南省における「虎跳峡および玉龍雪山トレッキング」ならびに自分で決めている定期訪韓のため約2週間の休業期間を挟んで、現在就業第５週目である。

私にとって障害児のケアはまったく新しい世界で自分がこれまでいかにこの世界のことを知らなかったか、学ぶことがいかに多いかを痛感している。

また、週１回の頻度ではあるが、「日本在住の外国人に対する日本語学習の支援」のボランティア活動も初めた。

こちらの対象は外国人の成人で、私の韓国での体験が役に立ちそうである。

次号のDRで私の新しい世界の続報ができることを願いつつ、今回は私の近況のご報告でした。

It was the last day of my 9-day Mongolia-Korea Summber Trip.

I saw a Korean movie “ミョンリャン”in the morning. Then Yuna picked me up in front of the theater, and we had lunch together at Dongre Chonggukjang Restaurant in Shinsongdong.

In the evening, I was invited by Dunsan Japanese Study Group for the dinner party.

The restaurant is called “Nolbu Bossam Restaurant near the 2nd exit of Tangbang Subway Station. Mrs. Kaori Hayashiyama was also invited to the party.

I sat between a man and a lady. The man was 23 years old, and the lady was “Dandelion” who also joined Taejonhikers’ hike on Sunday.

The story which a man sat in front of me surprised me a lot. His name is “Sanhyong” and he once live in Tokyo.

He traveled around Hokkaido with his family by bicycle. He said he also traveled in Kyushu.

There were two new faces, but they were not introduced formally so I could not know their names.

Someone said that one of them was the owner of the building which they have classes every Monday and he generously let them use the room for free.

Most of us drank beer, but Gyongmi, a professional folk-song singer, drank soju, without thinning it at all.

The dinner was over at around 9 pm and I went back to the hotel using the subway. Thus my 9th day of the trip was over.

9日間にわたったモンゴル-韓国旅行の最後の日である月曜日は、午前中、李スンシンを主題にした韓国映画を観た。

その後、昼食は富士山を一緒に登山したユナさんおよびそのお嬢さんとともに新城洞の東来チョングクチャン食堂で食べた。

夕方は7時から屯山のノルブポサムレストランで日本語スタディグループの会食に参加した。

炭房駅2番出口を出て左側のレストランで、前回通った道だった。日本人では林山かおり先生が参加した。

木村先生は電話で挨拶された。私の両隣は左側が23歳の若者で、右側はヒマワリ姫。トイメンは今回初めて会ったサンヒョンさんで、東京に住んだことがあるという。

なんと家族で北海道をサイクリングしてまわったそうだ。また、九州も旅行した経験があるそうだ。

初めて会う比較的若い男性が二人最後に加わったが、自己紹介などもなかったので名前もわからない。一人はスタディグループに場所を無料で提供してくれている人らしい。

料理はチョッパルを中心にしたもので、肉がなくなるころ野菜がでてくるなどチグハグだった。飲み物はもっぱらビールが多く、キョンミさんだけが焼酎をがんがんやっていた。彼女は民謡歌手だけあって飲むほうも豪傑だ。

林山さんやヒマワリ姫はビールだった。ミンさんも珍しく参加した。飲み会は9時ごろお開きになり、ふたたび地下鉄で政府庁舎へもどった。
