130107 Family trip to Izuyama (伊豆山)

Date: Jan. 7 (Mon), 2013 Fine

Destination : Lavista Izuyama (Izuyama Shrine)

Hiking course: Lavista Izuyama – Izuyama Shrine – Lavista Izuyama (about 2 km)

Partner: My wife, 2nd son, Ryo and a sister-in-law, Yoko

My wife reserved this hotel one month ago. She registered the suite for 4 people, herself, George and Ryo, our 2nd son, and a brother-in-law in Kamakura.

The brother-in-law had herpes zoster a week ago, so in stead of him, a sister-in-law, Yoko in Haneda joined us.

We picked them up at Ofuna station at noon and headed for Izuyama. On the way, we dropped in the restaurant named “Happy” in Hiratsuka.

I used the same restaurant on the previous day and I liked it so much, that I proposed my wife to use it again.

To my surprise, my 2nd son, Ryo knew the system of ordering food at this restaurant very well.

He even knew that we could order naan and/or rice“helping”for free!

We ordered four different kinds of curry and enjoyed every one of them.

After having lunch at this Indian and Nepal Curry Restaurant, we kept going Izuyama on a fine day.

[We arrived at Lavista Izuyama at 2:45 pm,

We arrived at the hotel at 2:45. My wife reserved “open-air spa”for Ryo and me. My son and I enjoyed the open-air spa named “Miharashi-no-yu”and enjoyed the nice view of the sea from the spa.

After taking the spa, we had much time until the dinner. So, just like last time, I enjoyed trekking around the facility.

I went to Izuyama Shrine, just like last time. This time, I walked across the shrine, and walked toward the national road.

When I came to the bottome of the main stairs of the shrine, about 5 or 6 kids playing a game called “Bakumaru.”

They were usuing toys named “Bakugan” which looked delicated mechanism. They must be expensive.

When I was at their age, I used to play “marbles” or “menko.” I thought, kids were kids, but their games must be changed a lot.

When I returned to the hotel, it was about the time for dinner.

Last time, it was only my wife and I, but this time we were the group of four. More the merrier, they say. We enjoyed “nabe”as the main dish, and tempura, etc. in the buffet style.

[The main dish was "nabe"

After the dinner, I enjoyed the spa again. Then I joined “karaoke”which was only one room available.

Since my 2nd son is working for an NGO, named JCN (Japan Citizen Network),

[We arrived at Lavista Izuyama at 2:45 pm,

[We could see the Izu sea from our hotel room,

[We could see the Izu sea from the open-air spa,

["Sazanka" or "Camellia sasanqua (the Christmas or Yuletide camellia)"

[The Torii which Kyoko Koizumi devoted,

[Toys called "Bakugan" 『

[The main dishes were "nabe" and "Tempura"

[At the dinner table,

[Ryo is making "zousui" as the last dish,
