140411 “Shiroyama Katakurino-sato”「城山カタクリの里」시로야마 얼레지의　마을 Sagamihara-shi, Kanagawa-ken

I saw an advertisement of “Shiroyama Katakurino-sato” in Kanachu Bus between Ofuna(大船) and Sanno(山王) after enjoying a super hot spring “Yukaisokai Taya湯快爽快田谷温泉.”

The ad was about the short-term bus service between Hajimoto Station and “Katakurino-sato.”

According to Wikipedia, Katakuri (Erythronium japonicum; Japanese: 片栗) is a pink-flowered species trout lily, belonging to the Lily family and native to Japan, Korea, the Russian Far East (Sakhalin Island, Kuril Islands) and northeastern China (Jilin and Liaoning). It is a spring ephemeral, blooming April–June in woodlands.

But the color of this flower is not “pink” but “violet.” So, "fawn lily" or "Japanese dog's tooth violet" might be accurate description.

I saw this flower in Korean mountains; most of the times, “violet” color.

Anyhow, I was very much interested in this private park, and decided to visit there on April 11.

My decision was good. It was the right time to see “Yellow-flowered species of this flower.

I took a JR train leaving at 7 am, and arrived at Hashimoto Station at 8:15 am.

I took the first bus from Hajimoto to Katakurino-sato. It was about 20 minute bus ride and I arrived at Katakurino-sato before 9 am.

Since it is a privately owned park. They charge every visitor 500 yen (about 5 dollars).

There was a restaurant near the entrance. They sell pictures of flowers, vegetables, and potted plants.

There were several kinds of azaleas including “Mitsuba-tsutsuji” or or “Rhododendron dilatatum.” It reminded me of “Jindallea” in Korea.

I had my 2nd meal of “brown rice porridge” under this “Mitsuba-tsutsuji.”

After having the meal, I saw “Ohiwa-uchiwa (Shortia uniflora).”

Then there was a big cat at feet of trees. It was a tiger-cat with its head high.

After the cat, I saw yellow-flowered fawn lilies in a big cluster. I had never seen yellow-flowered fown lilies in Korea. So, I was very much pleased to see them.

There were many different colors of flowers, I could enjoy to see.

I spent about 90 minutes in the park, then went down to the exit and the bus stop.

The earliest bus left “Katakurino-sato” at 11 am. So, I ate my 3rd “brown rice porridge” and went back to Hashimoto Statiion, then to Ofuna.

It was a beautiful day for viewing spring flowers.

散策地は、大船と湯快爽快田谷温泉を結ぶ神奈中バスの車内広告で見た「城山カタクリの里」。

日本カタクリが咲き始める3月21日から、黄花カタクリが見納めとなる4月20日までの1ヵ月間、毎日JR横浜線橋本駅北口から直通の臨時バスが運行される。

＜城山カタクリの里＞のホームページによると日本カタクリの満開日は3月31日で、黄花カタクリの満開日は4月12日だった。したがって最高の日に訪問したことになる。

この日のアクセスは横浜線にした(片道842円)が、藤沢経由小田急町田乗り換えだと若干安い(片道709円)ことが後でわかった。

大船発7時ごろの電車で横浜乗り換えで橋本には8時過ぎに到着。8:30発の始発の臨時バスに乗車した。

カタクリの里には9時少し前に到着。駐車場の周りには紅白の花が咲いていた。

道路から少し離れた丘の麓が入り口で、私有地のため入場料は500円。季節限定の私営公園ということになる。

入り口付近には花の株や写真、野菜などを売る売店があった。

入り口で入場料を払うとすぐにミツバツツジが見事だった。

足元にはさっそく遅咲きの日本カタクリが咲いていた。

立派なシラネアオイをみて、満開のミツバツツジのそばのベンチで9時の玄米粥を作って食べた。

玄米粥を食べてから緩やかな坂を上がるとオオイワウチワと名札のついた花をみて、さらにゆっくり先へ進むとみごとなミツバツツジとボケのそばに太ったトラネコがなにやら花の根元をうかがっていた。

この先を進むと、あったあった、キバナカタクリの群落。これは実にみごとだった。

ゆるやかな丘の上でカメラをベンチの上に載せてセルフタイマーで自分の写真を撮った。

この後、ヤマブキとミツバツツジと白いカイドウ(?)の三層が見事だった。

この後さらに低い丘の上へ出てから下り道は別ルートで朝、入場した入口へ戻った。

帰りの一番バスは11時だったので、少し時間を持て余した。

バス停の前には菜の花が満開でこれも見ごたえがあった。バスを待つ間にこの日3度目の玄米粥を作って食べた。

バスを待つ間に私に次いで見学を終えた同年配と思われる女性と話をした。彼女は往年の「山ガール」であったと思われ、日本百名山は80ほど制覇しているようだった。
