Dear SNCC News Readers,
SNCC held the first service of the new month, November last Sunday. We held Lord’s Supper during the service and after the service, we had Church School classes, and fellowship luncheon, as well as the prayer meeting by G1.

The details of our activities at SNCC on Nov. 2nd, 2014 are as below:
1. Sunday Morning Service on Nov. 2nd, 2014
a. Messenger: Pastor Masamichi Murakami.
b. MC: Mr. Kazuki Odagawa
c. Bible: Ephesians 4:13 “Until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.”
d. Message Title: " Where we should aim” (私たちが目指すべきところ)
e. Piano: Ms. Shizuko Odagawa and Ms. Kyoko Murakami
2. Congregation for the service: 33 adults and :7 kids for the service (Oct. 26)
3. Prayer requests.
3-1. For the works of Mr. & Mrs. Barkman, Hope Miyagi and volunteer works in Tohoku as well as the people still suffering from the disaster.
3-2. For the kids in the neighborhood. We continue our efforts to have close relationship with them.
3-3 For the seekers among people who come to SNCC regularly, esp. those who attend English Class and Saffron Club. Also for the family members of SNCC members who have not accepted Jesus as their savior.
3-4 For those who are in difficult situations physically as well as spiritually, esp. for Ms. Kaoruko Yamamoto, Ms. Kitakami, Ms. Kozuka, Ms. Mashima, Ms. Mita. (Thanks for your prayers, Ms. Yamamoto left hospital two weeks ago and she could come to church on Oct. 26.)
3-5 For the Inheritance of Christian faith, as well as the growth of their faith who come to SNCC. Also, those kids who have been away from the church.
3-6 For policy makers of this country; politicians, including Prime Minister Abe. May they notice their errors, and to change their ideas to the right ways. By silly decision of temporary political judgment at the time, they may not to allow the Constitution to be trampled.
May Christians stand on the Words and express their resolute attitude and as a lookout man of the times, be able to testify Lord’s Love toward the world.
3-7 For World Affairs: The confusions in Ukraine be pacified according to God’s will, and Gospel should be promoted in these areas. 3-8 For those missionaries who are working overseas, and those working for Bible translations in Japan, esp. those whom SNCC are supporting such as Tomoko Matsuoka in Indonesia.
3-9 For the budget of SNCC. We still have 13.7 million church debts. So, may we repay the debts before the due time.
3-10 It is our 38th year after the start. It is about the time to start praying for our new church building.

On Monday, Nov. 3rd, 2014, one of our sister churches, Shonan Life Town Christ Church (SLCC) held the dedication ceremony for its new church building.
I visited SLCC with Pastor Murakami and Mrs. Murakami. I visited the former church building while it was under construction. I remember, Pastor Craig Swanson and some other missionaries were working on the roof.
I remember that the building was in the middle of cabbage patch. The new building is very close to the bus-stop of Life Town. Their land is 320 tsubo (more than 1000 square meters). The seating capacity is 120 and there were 89 guests that day!
Among guests, I saw Pastor and Mrs. Michio Itoh who started SLCC from the scratch and their son, Pastor Ken-ichi Itoh.

11月の最初の主日礼拝を愛する兄弟姉妹と持てましたことを感謝です。先週に引き続き、薫子さんが出席できましたことも感謝です。月の最初の主日でしたので、主イエス・キリストをしのぶ聖餐式が執り行われました。
メッセージ箇所はエペソ人への手紙の4章13節で「私たちが目指すべきところ」というタイトルで御言葉の取次がなされました。
また、祈祷会は私が属する第1グループで、祈り課題を分かち合いました。お互いに祈りあえる幸せに感謝です。
愛餐会の後は、役員会と並行して、教会の若い会員たちの発案で第1回の「ユースカフェ」が開かれました。
翌日の11月3日は文化の日でしたが、私たちの姉妹教会の1つである湘南ライフタウン教会(SLCC)の献堂式がありました。
私が前回、SLCCを訪問したのはSNCCを始められたウォルター先生の娘婿であるクレイグ宣教師が新会堂建設のためその屋根に上がってお仕事をされている時でした。その会堂の写真が今回の新会堂の壁に貼ってありました。
2014年はウォルター先生が天国へ凱旋された年ですが、同時に湘南キリスト教会と湘南ライフタウン教会の新会堂が主に捧げられた年としても記憶されるべき年になりました。
