Sightseeing Place: Yokohama (Bay Quarters, Yamashita Park, China Town)

Now, it is their final day. They had to arrive at Haneda Airport by 2 pm. Therefore, they needed to take 12:20 limousine bus to Haneda Airport.
I met them at the hotel lobby in Ofuna. Then we took Tokaido Line to go to Yokohama.

We got off to East Exit, then headed to Sogo Department Store. It is connected to Yokohama Bay Quarters Area.

The first “Sea Bass” was to leave at 10:40, so we had plenty of time.
We looked around the Bay Quarters Area and dropped in a coffee shop.

You can enjoy great scenes from the Sea Bass, esp. the great views of buildings at Yokohama Minato Mirai 21 District, such as Landmark Tower Building, InterContinental Yokohama Grand, etc.

It is also nce to see Ōsanbashi Pier where the world class cruisers often at anchor. That day, we could see the Pacific Venus (26,518 t) and MS Asuka II(50,142).

It took only 10 minutes to go to Yamshita Park. The Sea Bass stopped next to “Hikawa Maru” the historic ocean liner built in 1930, (It is now the marine museum open to the public.)

We just saw Hikawamaru from outside but no time to see inside of the ship museum.

We had a brief sightseeing at Yamashita Park, then went to Yokohama Doll Museum, then we headed for Yokohama China Town.

We visited Kwan Tai Temple, a kind of central attraction of the town.

There was another “Dekobokodo” which BJ and Marta spent much time for shopping In Kamakura.

We had just window shopping and went to Yokohama Park, next to Yokohama Ball Park Stadium.

We took JR at Ishikawa-cho and went back to Ofuna. Picking up their luggage, and hurried to the limousine bus top where my wife also came to say “good-bye.”

May God bless this wonderful international marriage couple, I prayed and saw their bus off to Haneda Airport.

いよいよマルタとBJの訪日最終日である。羽田空港へ2時までに到着するには大船を12時20分発のリムジンバスに乗らねばならない。
そこで横浜港からシーバスに乗って山下公園で下船し、中華街と横浜公園を見学して大船にもどる駆け足の半日観光を企画した。

9時に大船駅前のホテルのロビーで会い、東海道線で横浜駅で下車。東口のそごうデパートから連絡橋を伝ってベイクォーターへ向かった。
ベイクォーターの２Fに山下公園行のシーバスという水上交通用の船が出ている

シーバスの始発は10:40であり、時間がたっぷりとあったので、ベイクォーター内のカフェでコーヒーをテイクアウトしてゆったりと船の出港を待った。

シーバスから見るよこはまみなとみらい21地区の景観は特別である。
大桟橋には最大級のクルーザーが停泊することができる。この日は日本籍のクルーザーとしては第2位の「ぱしふぃっくびいなす号」(26,518トン)と飛鳥Ⅱ(50,142 t)が停泊していた。

山下公園にはわずか10分で到着し、1930年に建造された氷川丸のすぐ隣で下船した。

氷川丸は博物館船として公開されているが、今回は外からみるだけで済ませた。

山下公園は港が見える丘公園に続いており、時間があれば格好の散歩コースだが、今回は人形の家博物館から中華街に向かった。

中華街では関帝廟を見学したほか、鎌倉の若宮大路で買い物をした凸凹堂がここにもあったのが面白かった。

中華街からは横浜スタジアムの隣の横浜公園に出て、さらに横浜公園を横切ってJR関内駅に向かった。

JR関内駅からは京浜東北線で大船に戻り、二人はモノレールの駅の下のバス停から羽田空港行きのリムジンバスに乗った。

私の妻も見送りに来て、別れを惜しんだ。二人は6日間の旅行日程をすべて終え、空港へ向かった。幸せな若い国際結婚のカップルだ。
