140508 Visiting My Good Friend in Seoul

It was my first re-visit of Korea since April 1st this year. I bought the air tickets in Daejeon in March. It was Haneda – Gimpo line. Much easier than Narita – Incheon.

The plane left at 16:20, so I attended Day KEC meeting until noon, and took 12:20 bus to Handeda.

My seat was on isle, but I could see Mt. Fuji clearly from the window near the restroom at the rear part of the plane.

I arrived at Gimpo Airport after 18:30 and took AREX which connects Incheon, Gimpo and Seoul Station high speed.

I changed to Subway No. 5 at Gongdeok Station and got off at Godeok Station where my friend, Dr. Chung lives.

He bought 3 kg of brown rice powder for me. Brown rice porridge was the ideal diet recommended by the church which organized the 10 day fasting prayer meeting in March. He said it cost only 30,000 won.

Last time when I visited my friend’s apartment, it was the end of April 2003. So it was 11 years ago.

It was still the early days of the development (Subway No. 5 was completed in 1995.) The area was greatly developed and the value of the land must have been increased greatly.

Dr. Chung and I had “Kalguksu” (literally "knife noodles") at a small shop near the station.　The noodle tasted very good.

He took me to his apartment after having the noodle. It was the same as 11 years ago, and I could use the same room in 2003.

His children have grown up and both of them are now twenties. His wife has been an English teacher of a high school.

She seems very busy. She was using the washing machine at midnight.

Dr. Chung is a deacon of Myongseong Church with the membership of 80,000 or more.

It was already late at night. But we had many things to talk about. I slept after 11 pm, it was quite unusual for me.

タイトル：ソウルの友人宅訪問

コース：羽田→金浦～AREX( KORAIL空港鉄道)～孔徳(地下鉄5号線へ乗換～高徳駅

今年4月1日に帰国してから第1回目の訪韓である。エア･ティケットは羽田～金浦で、出発時刻は午後4時過ぎなのでDay KECに出席してから12:20発の羽田空港行きのバスに乗車した。

座席は窓際ではなかったが、後部座席だった。ちょうど水平飛行に移ったため、トイレの後ろの窓から、中腹まで雪に覆われた富士山がよく見えた。

金浦空港には6時過ぎに着陸。空港鉄道に乗車し、孔徳駅で地下鉄5号線に乗り換えて、鄭信亮の家のある江東駅には8時ごろ到着した。

鄭信亮氏が駅に出迎え、駅の近くの地下街で手打ちそばをいっしょに食べた。手打ちそばは軽くてちょうどよい。

鄭信亮氏は私が依頼した玄米粥用の玄米の粉末も3kg(3万ウォン)購入してくれていた。玄米粥は3月に参加した10日間の禁食修練会のおすすめダイエットである。 彼の家に泊まるのは、2003年にETRIに就職が決まって、4月30日に泊まって以来であり、11年ぶりだ。 11年前は新興住宅地であったこの付近は高級住宅地に変わっていた。駅周辺のオフィステルはもちろん、住民のための公園ができたことも地価のアップに大いに影響していると思われる。

鄭博士と私は駅の近くの「カルグクス(칼국수手打ちそば)」屋に入って軽い夕食をたべた。私はこのカルグクスがけっこう好きである。

11年前に小学生だった子供たちも成人し、娘はオフィスレディとなっていた。今回、泊めてもらった部屋は、11年前のと同じ階上の部屋で、通常は彼の書斎であるようだ。

奥さんも11前同様、高校の英語の先生で、家事とキャリアを両立させている。この日は11時過ぎに寝たが、その後、深夜に洗濯機をかけていたのが印象的だった。

鄭博士はミョンソン教会のチプサ(짐사執事)である。日本のキリスト教会では使わない用語だが、強いて言えば教会役員であろうか。

彼の家は３代続くクリスチャンファミリーで、昔聞いた話だが、もし、私の記憶が正しければ、「チプサ」に選任されたときは親戚が集まってお祝いをしたそうである。

積もる話が多かったので、この夜は11時過ぎに就眠したが、これは私にとってめずらしい「遅寝」である。
