140509 Friday International Dinner Party in Daejoen

Date: May 9 (Fri) 2014

Place: Grace & Barnabas’s home at Hanpit Apartment

Transportation: Seoul – (KTX) – Daejeon –(Subway)- Wolpyongdong –(Bus)- ChungNam Univ. – (Walk)- Hanpit Apartment

Participants: About 30 people from 15 different countries

After seeing Ms. H and Ms. Y, I took KTX to Daejeon. I indulge myself by taking the 1st class car so that I could enjoy comfortable seat.

I took subway from Daejeon Station to Wolpeondong, then changed to bus to ChungNam University. In Seoul or in Daejeon, you need to pay the first ride of subway or bus, then you do not need to pay any additional fare for the following transportation at all. It’s a great system. In Japan we need to pay each ride for subway and bus.

It was less than 30 minute walk from ChungNam Univ to Oeundong where Hanpit Apart is.

I left my luggage at my friends’ apartment, then went to the sauna in Shinseongdong where I used to get “washing body” service.

Mr. B who does this service, welcomed me, and I gave him a small present as usual.

After having “washing body” service at the sauna, I returned to Hanpit Apartment, and together with my friend, we went to Grace & Barnabas’ home at Hanpit Apartment.

More than 30 people from about 15 countries came for the party. Elera, a good hiker from Russia celebrates her birthday. Someone prepared a birthday cake for her.

We sang “Happy Birthday To You” song with different languages, most of cases along the same tune, but some countries, different tune as well. It was fun.

There were so many people there, so just introducing each one taking too much time.

Among perticipants, there were some AhToSan members, such as Mario and Dandelion.

I always enjoy the international admosphere and enjoy the talk at the party.

The party was over at 9 pm, and I went back to my friend’s apartment which is only 5 minutes on foot.

I promised Grace and Barnabas that I should revist them again this year.

パーティ参加者：およそ15カ国30人

ソウルからKTXでテジョンに向かった。所要時間はほぼ1時間。テジョン駅で下車すると駅前広場に他テントが張ってあり、セウォル号沈没事故で政府の責任を問う横断幕と、行方不明者の無事帰還を願う多くの黄色いリボンが結ばれていた。

セウォル号沈没事故は実に痛ましい事故だ。また国民が一丸となって行方不明者の帰還を願う気持ちはよくわかる。また、何もできない無力感もわかる。

私は黄色いリボンが飾られた広場を後にして、地下鉄に乗り換え、月坪洞で下車し、バスに乗り換えて忠南大で下車し、魚隠洞まで歩いた。

テジョンでは地下鉄とバスに乗り換えると1回分の料金だけ有料で後の2回は無料である。これは利用者にやさしい制度でいつも素晴らしいと思う。

魚隠洞では10年間かかりつけだった宋内科へ行き、帰国前の最後の血液検査の結果を教えてもらった。このときの値は10日間の禁食修練会の後の数値で当然ながら絶好であった。

その後、二晩泊めていただく友人の家へ荷物を置き、かつて住んだ新城洞へ行き、サウナであかすりをしてもらった。あかすりをしてくれるBさんは長年の友人である。

6時半には新城洞から魚隠洞へ戻り、友人のウクライナ人、Mさんとグレイスおよびバルナバスの主催するIDPに参加した。
