SNCC News 14-47 (2014/12/21)
Merry Christmas to all SNCC News Readers,
SNCC held Christmas Service on December 21st. I took my guests from Korea; Mr. Lee and Marta. Mr. Lee is Korean and Marta is Ukrainian. They are my international friends in Korea who came to Japan for the first time.

We had the 4th week of Advent and put fire on the 4th candle that day. SNCC also held Candle-light Christmas Service on Dec. 23 after having caroling at Human Life Care, an elderly care facility, and in front of JR Ofuna Station (West Exit).

I took my guests to the sightseeing in Kamakura/Enoshima after the service, but SNCC held “Fellowship Luncheon” after the service, and they went to “Himawari(Sunflower) Home” for caroling.
The details of our activities at SNCC on Dec. 21st, 2014 are as below:
1. Sunday Morning Service on Dec. 21st, 2014
a. Messenger: Pastor Masamichi Murakami.
b. MC: Mr. Eizaburo Nakanishi
c. Bible: John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
d. Message Title: " The Best Gift from God” (「神からの最高の贈り物」)
e. Piano: Ms. Shizuko Odagawa and Ms. Kyoko Murakami
2. Congregation for the service: 32 aduls and : 4 kids for the service (Dec. 14)
3. Prayer requests.
3-1. For people living in temporary housing in Tohoku disaster affected area amd the works of Mr. & Mrs. Barkman, Hope Miyagi and volunteer workers there. May the support by the central and local governments appropriate for people’s needs.
3-2. For the kids in the neighborhood. We continue our efforts to have close relationship with them. (Thanks for your prayers, We have “Wakuwaku Kodomokai” every month. The number of kids is increasing.)
3-3 For the seekers among people who come to SNCC regularly, esp. those who attend English Class and Saffron Club. Also for the family members of SNCC members who have not accepted Jesus as their savior.
3-4 For those who are in difficult situations physically as well as spiritually, esp. for Ms. Mihoko Kotsuka, Ms. Kaoruko Yamamoto, Ms. Akiko Nakanishi, Ms. Hatsuko Kato, Ms. Fumiko Mashima.
3-5 For the Inheritance of Christian faith, as well as the growth of their faith who come to SNCC. Also, those kids who have been away from the church.
3-6 For those who are to take entrance examinations of high school, and college. May their health be protected and may their ways be shown to them.
3-7 For policy makers of this country; politicians, including Prime Minister Abe. May they notice their errors, and to change their ideas to the right ways. By silly decision of temporary political judgment at the time, they may not to allow the Constitution to be trampled. May God’s will be done on the general election on Dec. 14.
3-8 For World Affairs: The confusions in Ukraine be pacified according to God’s will, and Gospel should be promoted in these areas.
3-9 For those missionaries who are working overseas, and those working for Bible translations in Japan, esp. those whom SNCC are supporting such as Tomoko Matsuoka in Indonesia.
3-10 For the budget of SNCC. We still have 13.7 million-yen church debts. So, may we repay the debts before the due time.

今週の日曜礼拝はアドベント第4週でしたが、「クリスマス礼拝」でした。私は韓国から初めて来日した私の友人で、韓国人とウクライナ人のカップルを礼拝に案内しました。彼らはギリシャ正教会の会員ですが、信仰をともにする友人であると認識しております。韓国人の御主人は日本語(ひらがな)が読め、教会福音讃美歌をともに賛美できました。

村上牧師のメッセージではヨハネの福音書3章16節『神は、実に、そのひとり子をお与えになったほどに、世を愛された。それは御子を信じる者が、ひとりとして滅びることなく、永遠のいのちを持つためである。』から「神からの最高の贈り物」という題で御言葉が語られました。

また、大人のメッセージの前には、いつもの通り、子供たちにもわかりやすいプレゼントのお話の例から「子供メッセージ」が語られました。

礼拝後、私は客人に鎌倉を案内するために教会を後にしましたが、SNCCでは持ち寄りの愛餐会があり、そのあと、2時から「ひまわりホーム」でキャロリングを行いました。
休日の12月23日は午後1時から「ヒューマンライフケア」でのキャロリングに続き、3時からは大船駅西口でキャロリングが行われ、韓国からのお客さんも熱心に聴きました。また、教会近隣のかたがたも聴衆のなかにおられ、最後まで聴いていただけました。
