Sightseeing Course: Busan Station – 75 Square – Taejongdae Natural Park[태종대(太宗臺)] - Jagalchi Market(자갈치시장) - Yongdusan Park(용두산공원) – Toyoko-in Busan#2 Hotel

The strong low-presser passed through Japan Sea previous night. Therefore many domestic flights from Haneda was cancelled. So, I was a bit worried about their schedule. Yet, Kikko and her 8 friends came to Gimpo Airport all right on previous night.

As I suggested they all stayed at a Jjimjilbang near the airport. Only the taxi drivers demanded 30,000 won for each car (they used two taxies.) However, one stay overnight charge was only 8,000 won (about 600 yen, maybe the lowest price they ever paid for a stay abroad,) much cheaper than ordinary hotels.
They took an early flight from Gimpo to Gimhae, Busan Airport, so I left Daejeon at 8:33 by KTX and arrived at Busan at 10:17.
I took a taxi from Busan Station and arrived at Gimhae Airport before 11 am. They came to the airport exit just as I expected. I took them to Busan by limousine bus and got off at our hotel, Toyoko-in Busan #2.
We left our luggage at the hotel and went out for sightseeing.
We had “Samgyetang” for lunch. Samgyetang (Korean pronunciation: [samɡjetʰaŋ]) is a variety of guk Korean soup, which primarily consists of a whole young chicken and Korean ginseng.

After having lunch, we headed for Busan Station Square from where City Bus Tour starts. When we arrived at the bus stop, the 2 o’clock bus had just left. We had to wait for 30 minutes for the next bus.
While waiting the next bus, we went to see the square where a kind of events going on. It was a promotion for the 2013 Suncheon Garden Expo Korea.

It was fun to see many young people dancing. So it came soon the time for the bus leaving time. It originally costs 9000 won each, but since we were a team of 10, they discounted 1,000 won.
We left Busan Station at 3 pm and got off at 75 Square first. It was a nice spot to see Busan Harbor and beautiful coast line.

There were two male musicians playing trampets, and we had a leisurely walk in the park.

Then we went to Taejeongdae Natural Park. Last time when I visited here with Mr. Matsumoto, we walked around the park, so we could see nice seashore and light-house.

But my plan was not good for my wife and most of her friends. It was too tough for them to walk around the park.

Only 3 people followed me to the peak of the first slop and all other people gave up walking. I could utilize the train-shaped bus to go around for my colleagues.

Anyway, after spending for an hour, we took the city-bus tour again and went to Jagalchi Market(자갈치시장).

I visited here more than 20 years ago. Therefore it changed quite a lot. There was a new building and many small fish-dealers selling fish to sightseers on the 1st floor.

We could order fish for sashimi on the first floor, they they prepare fish for sashimi dishes on the 2nd floor. We had a small party on the 2nd floor.

We bought flatfish as the main sashimi, and some oysters and sea-paineapples for additional sashimi. They served sasimi first, then bring sea-food soup with rice. We also ordered Korean alcohole drinks such as soju and makgeolli. They all like them all.

After the dinner, we walked to Yongdusan Park(용두산공원) on foot. Most of them got tired, but there was no way to use taxi. We could use “the escalator” from the street to the top of the hill, but the distance from the market to the entrance of the escalor seemed a bit too much for most of my company.

But they liked Busan Tower which is on the hill of Yongdusan Park. I visited this tower 27 years ago, May in 1986 with one of my five elder sisters. The tower was the same, but scenery we saw for the tower was different. It became much more beautiful than before.

After seeing the night Busan from the tower, we walked down to the street. It was only 20 minute walking distance, but for some of my guests including my wife, it was too much. So I caught a taxi, told the driver to bring them to Toyoko-in Busan #2 Hotel.
The taxi driver took them to Toyoko-in Busan #1 Hotel, however. My wife and her 3 friends had to pay extra fare from #1 Hotel to #2 Hotel. We all got check-in at #2 Hotel after 10 pm.
I felt it was a long day, but probably so for all of other guests.

前夜、低気圧が日本海を通過して、羽田発国内便の多くがキャンセルになったが、国際便は予定通りで、喜久子たちは金浦空港へ午後10時過ぎに到着、空港近くのチムジルバンに宿泊(チムジルバンは一泊8000ウォン、約600円だから、多分海外の宿泊施設で彼らが支払った最も安い料金だろうと思う)、午前の便で金浦から金海空港へ向かった。
私は朝8:33大田発のKTXに乗って、釜山には10:17到着。喜久子一行の金海空港到着は11時ごろなので時間は十分と思ったが、バスの便は少なく、所要時間は1時間という。

やむを得ずタクシーで空港に向かった。料金は1万5000ウォン強だったが時間は30分かからなかった。
かろうじて喜久子たちの飛行機10:55到着に間に合った。彼らは荷物を預けたため、一番最後の方に出てきた。
電話が無かったので無事だろうとは思ったが、昨夜、金浦空港では終バスが出た後で、タクシーでチンジルバンに向かったが料金は1台3万ウォン(約3000円)とぼったくられたという。まあチンジルバンが安い分、これは仕方ないか。
金海空港から釜山駅行きのリムジンはすぐに出発し、料金は一人6000ウォン。東横イン釜山駅＃２の前に止まったので楽だった。
荷物をホテルに預け、釜山駅方面に向かい、「故宮参鶏湯」というサムゲタンの専門店で12000ウォンの参鶏湯を食べた。

ここの参鶏湯はソウルの盧武鉉元大統領の行きつけの参鶏湯にくらべると味が淡泊だったが、私はこちらの方がいい。人参酒が4本出たが飲みきれない分は喜久子は後で飲むよう、ペットボトルに入れた。
食後、シティツアーに向かったが2時半のバスが出たばかりで、次の3時発まで時間があった。
釜山駅前広場では今月から10月まで順天(スンチョン)で開催される「ガーデン・エキスポ」の行事をやっていて若者たちの活発なダンスが見物できた。15分ほど見学してバス停に戻るとバスが来ていてすぐに乗車した。席が足らなくなったので、早めに乗車して正解だった。

料金は10人割引がきいて一人8000ウォンだったが、ティケットが１枚不足してすこしトラぶった。結局途中下車して乗車する時は「まとまって10人です」と言って乗り込むことにして、これで問題はなかった。
最初は前回、松本さんを案内した時と同様、75広場で下車した。サクスフォーンの上手な二人の男性が演奏をしていて、それをバックミュージックに見学した。もちろん、遊歩道を歩いて崖下に行くものはいない。

松本さんと来た前回同様、遠くに多くのおおきな船が行ったり来たりし、沿岸では小さいボートをとめて海女が漁をしているようだった。またこの日は天気が良く、前回、気がつかなかった対馬が見えた。

次に太宗台へ行ったが、ここはかなり歩かなければんらず、坂の上の観覧車の駅まで登ったが、最後までついて来たのは栗原さんと牛島さんと美保子さんだけだった。
坂の頂上付近で観覧車とすれ違った。出発地点で坂の反対の下の道に行けば、この観覧車に乗ることができたのかもしれない。これは同行者の体力を考慮しなかった私の失敗だった。

太宗台で1時間半ほど費やしてから、さらにシティツアーを続け、美しい海岸線を通って、チャガルチ市場で降りた。

チャガルチ市場は20年ぶりで、場所が分かりにくく、インフォメーションに入って訊ねた。職員は親切に対応してくれた。

チャガルチ市場には大きな建物ができていて1階の市場でヒラメとホヤ(シーパイナップル)と岩ガキを見繕って2階に上がって食べた。

最後のメウンタンは我々の魚のあらが少なかったため、他のあらを使ってくれて量もたっぷりだった。焼酎やマッコリも含めて一人1万8000ウォン(約1500円)は安いと思う。

チャガルチ市場見学後、龍頭公園へ向かったが、エスカレーターまでかなり歩かせたため、みなふうふうだった。しかし龍頭公園のタワー(釜山タワー)から見る夜景は20年前よりあかるくてよかった。

龍頭山公園へ初めて来たのは27年前の1986年5月で、この時は私の2番目の姉といっしょだった。

釜山タワー見学後、タワーからエレベーターで下って、公園からそのまま大通りへ出たが、大通りからホテルまでの距離が喜久子たちには辛いようだ。
タクシーがすぐにつかまったので、喜久子と3人がタクシーで東横イン釜山駅＃２に向かわせたが、タクシー運転手との意思疎通が悪く、彼女たちは＃１へ連れて行かれた。
タクシーに乗らなかった我々は途中で買い物などしたため、やや時間がかかった。途中、ホテルまであと5分という地点で喜久子から携帯に電話がはいった。ホテルまで遠いからタクシーに乗れという指示だった。もうすぐホテルに着くと返事してホテルに着くと、なんと彼らはいない。 これは運転手が東横イン釜山駅#1へ連れて行ったなと思い、フロントで＃１に電話してもらったら相手のフロントはそのような客はいないと言う。仕方なく喜久子へ携帯をかけると今タクシーに再度乗ってこちらへ向っているという。あほらしい。
ようやく全員そろって各自のカバンを持って各自の部屋へ行った。部屋割りは8階で栗原さんと一緒だった。
たいへん長い長い一日と感じたが、私のゲストたちも同じだろう。
