Hiking course: Sutonggol Parking Lot – Bingesan – Suigoljae – Sutonggol Bonga (About 4 km, 2.5 hours)

I arrived at the main gate at 9:40 am. So I went back to the pond and watched geese and ducks there.

George Furst came to the gate a little later than 10 am because of heavy traffic.
We headed for Sutonggol soon when George came.
The 4 of Jim’s friends are as follows: N, a New Yorker, who joined Taejonhikers’ hike to Gapasan two weeks ago. M, a Japanese who is the girlfriend of N. M and I talked over the phone last time when N called NY from Gapasan.
John from Melbourne has a nice mustache. He said his ancestors are Turkish. He came originally from Antioch.
Pino from Philadelphia, came originally from Italy. I thought Westerners’ backgrounds were complicated.
We arrived at Sutonggol at around 10:40. There was a new building where it used to be a parking lot.

We took short-breaks several times before we came to the ridge.

I told her it would be difficult to get a job as a Japanese teacher. First of all, she needs to get qualifications such as “university degree” or Japanese qualifications.
She did not go to college in Japan, but “nursing school” and has “nurse qualification.”
In that case, she’d better to find a job in Japan, and Nino may come to Japan and find a job in Japan.
Nino wanted to go back to his home by 4 pm that day. So, we did not go any other summit of Sutonggol that day, and began descending the mountain.
After taking a group picture at the summit, I saw “Mirine” the old member of AhToSan. So, I conversed with her for a while.
“Dodori” another member of AhToSan heard my voice and he came to greet to me, too.
Jim, Pino and John went down first. George Furst, Nino and Midori followed me.
I expected Jim, Pino and John waiting for us at Suigoljae, but they did not. So, we hurried to descend the mountain.
The descending trail was frozen, so we must walk carefully.

When we left the restaurant, there were “peddlers” along the road. One old lady was selling “pairs” in volume. Nino and Midori bought 7 big pairs with 10,000 won. Midori gave one of them to me. I cut them into small pieces and brought them to AhSoSan hike on Saturday.

KAISTへは自転車で向かったが9時40頃着いてしまった。池のダックとグースを見学してから正門へ戻るとジムがすでに来ていた。

ジョンは白い口髯がみごとで、先祖はトルコ人で、出身地は最古のキリスト教会があるアンティオケだとう。
また、Nはもともとはセルビア人だと言う。西洋人は流動性が高く複雑だ。
ジョージ・ファーストの話では米国では身体のサンプルを送ると先祖がどの様であるかDNA鑑定をするサービスがあり、費用は100ドルだと言う。それは面白いかもしれない。
集合はジョージが渋滞で少し遅れ、いつものKAISTでの写真撮影は無く、ストンコルの駐車場で新しく建ったビルのトイレを使った後、駐車場で集合写真を撮った。

最初の休憩は11:12で、2度目の休憩が11:37、3度目の休憩では鶏龍山が見える稜線にでて、11:50には一番見晴らしの良い展望台に出た。

ジムとピノとジョンは先に下って行ったのでジョージとNとMさんを率いて後を追った。

雪の多く残っている中間でジムたちが我々を待っていて写真を撮ったのが12:52だった。

1時20分には下山してストンコル本家へ向かった。
１Fは客がいっぱいで、今回初めて2階に行った。

鴨肉はおいしくて2テーブルに出されたものをすべて食べた。

彼に料金を払おうとするとなんとおごってくれた。ジョージにおごってもらうのは珍しい。
下山途中で以前も聞いた「順子」という20年前の恋人の話をまた聞いた。彼女はきっと私と同年代かも知れない。昔話である。
3時には食事を終え、車に向かった。

家が横浜で、鎌倉付近で介護の仕事を探しているという。それなら充分チャンスがあると思った。 Nは私をみて彼女も韓国で日本語教師ができるのではないかと考えたようだが、それは無理だろう。資格を取るには少なくとも2年くらい集中しなければならない。
彼女は介護学校卒業の資格で通信教育などでまず大学卒業の資格からとらねばならないだろう。
アメリカには3年住んだと言うので英語は相当なものだとおもう。
Nは韓国では英語教師だが、「資料製作」のような専門があるようだ。この専門での職は分からないが、韓国同様日本でも英語教師の仕事なら充分あるとおもう。
ただ、こちらも資格を取った方がよいだろう。
ジョージ・ファーストにKAISTまで送ってもらい、4時には新城洞にもどった。
今回は今年に入って63回目の登山/ハイキングである。
