120103 Mt. Haguro (羽黒山414m), Tsuruoka(鶴岡), Yamangata Prefecture (山形県)

Destination (mountain): Mt. Haguro (414m), Tsuruoka, Yamanaga Prefecture

Hiking course: Zuishin Gate – Shinkyou Bridge (Suga Fall) – The First Hill –The 3rd Hill – Sanjin Gosaiden Shrine – Bus Terminal (Uphill trail: 2 km)

Partner: None.

Got up at 7 a.m. and ate breakfast with the Satoes at 8 a.m. After having breakfast, we took several family pictures. Azusa’s picture was a chef doeuvre.

Susumu sent me to the entrance of the trail (Zuishin Gate) by 10 a.m.

A few hikers (or worshipers of the shrine) walked up to the hill. There were several sightseers led by a guide to the national treasure, the 5-story wooden pagoda. But it seemed that I was the only hiker that morning.

This was my 3rd straight hike in New Years days, but I felt comfortable to complete my hike for about one hour. There were plenty of snow, and the stone steps were completely buried. I felt like climbing a snow mountain.

I arrived at the bus terminal of Hagurosan Shrine at 11:15. Just like last year,

I had lunch there (a bowl of noodle, 700 yen, and a small potful sake, 350 yen.) I took 11:55 bus and got off at Yupoka Spa at 12:25. I enjoyed hot spring bathing, and watching Hakone Ekiden on TV.
I took 14:49 bus (which came at 15:04) and went back to Tsuruoka Station at 15:30.

I walked back to the Satoes (which is about 5 km away) on foot and came home at 16:40. This was my first hike in the year of 2012.

朝7時起床。8時過ぎに朝食後、居間および玄関先で新年の集合写真を撮った。

家を9時半過ぎに出て、羽黒山の下の神社前まで今年も進さんに送ってもらった。その途中、トモコさんに言われて、鶴岡の交差点などの信号が縦になっていることに初めて気が付いた。ふだんなんとも鈍感なものだとあらためて感心した。

羽黒山への登山は3年連続同じコースを登ったわけだが、今年はもっとも早く、簡単に登れたような気がする。雪の量は今年が一番多かったと思う。

一の坂も二の坂も三の坂も雪が「てんこ盛り」で雪山登山の雰囲気だが、新雪はそれほど深くなく、スパッツを忘れたことを当初悔いたが、実は不要だった。

途中の二の坂茶屋までは実にあっけなく到達。頂上の神社まで2キロのコースをほぼ1時間で歩いた。 雪は明らかに昨年よりも多い。鐘楼の前にあった烏の銅像はすっぽり雪に埋まって、まったく姿が見えず、雪の塊となっていた。

バスターミナルの休憩所には11時15分着。

１串100円のこんにゃく玉だんごにつられて２Fの食堂に上がったが、山菜そばの700円と1合350円の酒は実に高いと思った。

どちらもカップヌードルおよび保温瓶で持参すればずっと安くついたのに。

昨年とまったく同じ11:55羽黒山頂発のバスでユポカ温泉へ。

ユポカには12:25に着いたが、13:39発のバスは正月のため運休で、14:49まで次のバスはなし。(昨年同様、テレビで箱根駅伝の10区を観戦。東洋大が2年ぶり3度目の優勝を驚異の新記録で飾った。) しかもこのバスが15分遅れで到着し、鶴岡には15:30過ぎに着いた。 そこから文下まで雪の国道を酒田方面に向かって歩き、佐藤家に着いたのは16:40だった。
