130708 Bush Walk (Blue Gum Creek Track-Great North Walk) and visiting Arcadia, NSW [

Traveling Date: July 8, 2013 (Mon) Fine

Place: “Blue Gum Reserve” + Lane Cove National Park, and Arcadia, a suburb on the North Shore of Sydney, (NSW), Australia

Walking Partners: None, Dinner Partner: My wife, The whole family of my first son and Mrs. S (a friend of my wife) and Nerida & Yasu and their 3 year old daughter.

It was our 8th day of our trip to Australia. Only two days left for us.

In the morning, I went walking alone to Lane Cove National Park through Blue Gum Creek Track. This time, successfully.

I walked on Greville ST, same as the previous day. I noticed the gate of National Acoustic Laboratories.

[The gate of Natinal Acoustic Laboratories,

I turned right after the laboratories, then walk down in the bush. So far, the same as previous day.

The difference was the direction at the junction of the three trails. This time, I turned to left. Then soon I came to the open space and I saw a bridge-like construction. It looked like Roman aqueduct.

[There was a construction looked like Roman aqueduct,

Then soon, I came out to the main entrance of Lane Cove National Park. After using a bath room in the park, I went to Great North Walk where we all together went a little two days before.

I soon passed the point we took a group picture. Then I came out to the trail along the river.

This trail was just the other side of River Side Trail which I walked with 3 of my wife’s friends last year.

I saw a black bird which looked like the turkey we saw two days before. But it looked a little different. It looked a bit thin then the turkey.

I turned back after a while, to my son’s home, but this time, not through the bush, but along the highway.

I saw beautiful flowers in the gardens along the high way. I came back at around 10:40, so it was about 2 hours and half walk this time.

My son took his kids and me and went to “Subway” to buy sandwiches. They sell long size sandwiches with reasonable price. So, I like sandwiches of “Subway.”

After having lunch, my son took all of us and drove to a house in Arcadia. It was about 20 minute drive from Chatswood.

It looked more country-side and I saw some horses in ranches.

When we arrived at Ms. S's son's home, I saw flower of Tibouchina in the garden.

My wife’s friend, Ms. S, just arrived at her son’s place from Japan that day. Her son, Yasu married an Australian lady, Nerida when she went to Japan as a missionary. So, her son is a student at a theological seminary in Australia now.

They have a three-year-old daughter, and Ms. S brought a Japanese kimono for her as “Shichi-go-san” celebration.

When we visited their house, their daughter was taking a nap. While we were having tea and cake, their daughter woke up.

The 3 year-old girl looked really cute. She began playing with our grandchildren.

There were two houses next to next in the land. I heard that Nerida’s father built both of them. Nerida’s parents were on vacation and other part of the earth. So, we could not see them.

Their neighbor owns a ranch. There were horses in the ranch.

[A horse came close to us, 白馬がすぐ近くに寄ってきた。

We walked around their houses, and just saw around. They have chickens and the granddaughter of Ms. S, played with them.

She held a chicken in her arms. The chickens were gentle. Next to their house was a ranch, and we saw a white horse near the fence.

[The girl held a chicken,

For the return to the tea, our son invited them to his house for dinner that day.

They visited Chatswood in the evening. We had “shabushabu” at Lazy-Susan at my son’s home in Chatswood.

[Shabushabu for dinner,

Our grandson took care of their granddaughter well at home. They played together with blocks in the living room.

It might be the first and last chance to encounter each other, but I hope they become good neighbors and possibly become good friends in the future.

Greville ST~Blue Gum Creek Track~Great North Walk~Greville ST

[The mark of bush-fire,

[The guidepost of "Fullers Park" 『

[Guidepost of "Great North Walk"、『

[White wild flower along GNW(Great North Walk), GNW沿いの白い野生花、GNW 길가 흰색 야생화]

[A chicken like black bird,

[We visited a house in Arcadia,

[At the garden of the house,

[Tea time at the house,

[Tibouchina(a family of Melastomataceae),

[Camellia flower,

[Ms. S brought a set of kimono for her granddaughter, Sさんは孫娘のための着物を持ってきた。

[Yasu and Nerida and their daughter, Sさんの息子夫妻と孫娘、S 씨의 아들 부부와 손녀]

[The girl held a chicken,

[A horse came close to us, 白馬がすぐ近くに寄ってきた。

[A pond in the garden,

[After the dinner,

[Our grandson is playing with the girl,
