AhToSan planned to climb YongJaeBong (영제봉1050m) in Jirisan National Park on Sep. 7.

My Japanese hiking friend, Mr. Matsumoto wanted to join a hike in Jirisan National Park.

So he came from Karatsu in Kyushu, via Hakata to Busan by boat on Sep. 5 Thursday.

I picked him up at Daejeon Station and we came to my studio apartment late at night on Thursday.

When I checked AhToSan website that night, I found out that AhToSan canceled the hike that weekend, due to lack of participants (only 10 aplicants including us.)

So, we decided to go to Mt. Jiri by ourselves.

We headed for Namwon on Jeolla Line from Seo-Daejeon Station by Saemaul Express treain next day (Friday, Sep. 6.)

It was raining, but we all packed necessary things in our bags and arrived at Namwon Station at 12:10.

We took a local bus from Namwon Station to the intercity bus terminal in Namwon.

Then we had lunch in front of the bus terminal.

After checking in at a nearby hotel, we went to Chunhyang Theme Park, despite of the bad weather.

I came to this theme park about 15 years ago, when I visited one of my young friends here.

Anyhow, I was happily surprised that we got free admission tickets at the entrance booth, because we were both over 64. (Admission fee was 3000 won)

There was an escalator next to the entrance gate. Then we visited Local Folk Museum.

It was a fine museum with many interesting exhibitions. (Mostly about folk events.)

I liked the exhibitions which showed the old days daily life and people's lives from birth to death by using miniature dolls.

Then we walked around the theme park, slowly, and saw many “Chunhyangjeon” related scenes with wax and medal dolls.

The Chunhyangjeon (춘향전, 春香傳 lit. "The Story of Chunhyang") is one of the best known love stories and folk tales of Korea. It is based on the pansori Chunhyangga.

When I think of this story, I always think of a Japanese movie, “Izuno Odoriko伊豆の踊子” or “The dancing girl in Izu”written by Kawabata Yasunori.

It is very popular in Japan and they made the movies under the same title, 6 times from 1933 to 1974.

In case of Chunhyangjeon, they made 11 times under the same title or similar one from 1923 – 2000.

While we were walking, I explained this love story to Mr. Matsumoto from one place to the other.

The Korean story ended as a happy-ending story, while the Dancer Girl of Izu story ended just a sad departure, and separation between two lovers.

(The last movie in 1973, however, the actress who played “Kaoru”, Momoe Yamaguchi and Tomokazu Miura who played the hero, got married after this movie and they are living happily together up to today.)

We spent about two hours in the park, and walked back to the hotel at 4 pm.

We went to the sauna attached to the hotel, then have a leisurely stroke around the small market, and returned to the hotel.

旅行日：2013年9月6日(金) 小雨のち本降り。

旅行地：全羅北道、南原市(ナムウォン市남원시)

旅行日程：西大田→南原駅(コレイルのセマウル号)～市外バスセンター(市内バス)

9月の第1週のアトサンの登山計画は、全羅南道、南原市の智異山国立公園内「霊帝峰(ヨンジェボン영제봉1050m)」だった。

日本の登山の師匠である松本氏に連絡し、かねてから登山を期待していた智異山である旨を伝えたら、彼の家の唐津から博多へ出て、そこから釜山へ木曜日の夕方到着するフェリーで来韓した。

ところが木曜日の夜になって、アトサンのサイトにアクセスすると参加申込者が10名しかいないので中止にすると通知された。

そこで、やむを得ず、松本氏と私の二人だけで個人旅行として南原市へ行き、土曜日に智異山・天王峰に登山し、松本氏は日曜日に九州へ戻ることにした。

そこで、金曜日は大田から南原市へ向かった。

南原へ行くには湖南線を経由して全羅線の麗水行きに乗らなければならない。

そこで西大田に向かったが、地下鉄に乗るのに606号バスに乗ったのは失敗だった。

政府庁舎北口で下車したが、地下鉄の海苔口は結局屯山警察前。重い荷物を背負って20分くらい歩く羽目になった。

西大田サゴリから西大田駅までもかなりの距離で2番出口から出て、右側に直進、道路をわたって右折、結局駅に着いたのは10時過ぎになってしまった。

南原まではセマウルで2時間近くかかる。西大田発が10時27分発で、南原着は12時10分だった。

南原駅はできたばかりのようで、駅前にはな駐輪場とインフォメーションセンター以外はなにもない。ちなみにインフォメーションセンターは閉まっていた。

駅の構内には『智異山入山時間指定制』という案内があったが、これが何を意味するかは、実際に登山してみるまで分からなかった。

駅間には乗り合いバスが1台止まっていて12時30分発。市外バスターミナルまで1100ウォンで約10分ほどかかった。

市外バスターミナルはごちゃごちゃした通りに面していてわかりにくい。バスの運転手に聞いてようやくわかった。

窓口で釜山行きのバスの時間を確認した。午前午後それぞれ3本ずつある。

次に智異山行きのバスを聞いたら、中山里はわからず、白武洞はインウォルと言うところで乗り換えればよいことがかわった。

いったん宿をさがすことにして、まずターミナル前の食堂で昼飯にした。二人とも石焼ビビンバを注文。5000ウォンでまあままの味だった。

食堂で旅館の所在を聞くとその食堂のすぐ裏にあった。大衆浴場と旅館の兼営で、最初、35000ウォンの部屋を案内された。

そこはダブルベッド１つしかなく、後で5万ウォンのツインの部屋に替えた。こちらはだんぜん広く、ネットが使えるパソコンもある。

荷物を部屋に置いてから、春香テーマパークへ向かった。

春香伝(しゅんこうでん、춘향전 チュニャンヂョン)は李氏朝鮮時代の説話で、妓生(キーセン)の娘と両班(リャンバン)の息子の身分を越えた恋愛を描いた物語である。

これは映画と言うメディアができる前から朝鮮の伝統芸能の１つであるパンソリ(浪花節のように物語を歌うように語る)で取り上げられ、映画が出現してからは1923年から2000年まで11回も映画化された物語である。

この日は生憎の雨だったが、テーマパーク見学には支障ない。入場券は一人3000ウォンだったが、65歳以上は無料ということで大いに気をよくした。

入場券売り場からはエスカレーターで一段高いところへ上がると立派な郷土博物館があった。

郷土博物館でいちばん気に入った展示は、伝統的な韓国人の暮らしをミニチュアの人形を使って表現したものだ。

これは赤ん坊としての誕生から、成人、結婚、出産、満1歳の誕生日の祝い、そして病気や葬式の儀式などが表現されていた。

ほかにもさまざまな展示があり、訪問客はこの時は我々だけだったようで、館内をゆっくり見学し、その後は順路にしたがって、春香テーマパークを見学した。

純路に沿って歩くと、月梅(ウォルメ)の家とか、李夢龍（イ・モンニョン）と成春香（ソン・チュニャン）の出会いと別れ、そして春香が悪代官卞（ピョン）府使に投獄され、拷問される場面、

また夢龍が暗行御史として南原に潜入し、牢獄に春香を訪ねたり、夢龍が卞府使の悪事を暴いて彼を罰したのち、春香を救出し、結婚式に向かうシーンなどが蝋人形やメタルの等身大の人形が置かれていた。

なんといっても圧巻は代官所で春香が棒叩きの拷問を受けている場面で、これは蝋人形でリアルに再現されていた。

春香伝は韓国人の間で今でも非常に人気があり、日本で比較されるような映画として思い浮かぶのは川端康成原作の「伊豆の踊子」である。こちらは 1933年から1974年までに6回映画化されている。

私はこの小説が好きで、実際に天城峠も訪れたが、映画は高橋秀樹と吉永小百合のものをYoutubeで1本見ただけである。

さて、我々がテーマパークの見学を終え、ホテルへ戻ったのは4時ごろだった。

大衆浴場は宿泊客は2000ウォン追加すれば入れる。我々は風呂に入ったのち、市場をブラブラ見学し、食堂で夕食を軽く食べてからホテルに戻り、部屋でテレビをみながら酒盛りをした。

気の置けない友人と旅先で飲む酒はまた格別である。
