130703 Drive from Taunton Farm to Perth, Then Flight to Sydney、(タウントン農場からパースへ、そしてシドニーへ) [타운턴 농장에서 퍼스, 그리고 시드니로]

Traveling Date: July 3, 2013 (Wed) Rain then fine

Destination: Perth (WA), then to Sydney (NSW) in Australia

Traveling course: Taunton Farm→Perth→Sydney

Partner: Kikko and Tracey (Up to Perth)

It’s the third day in Western Australia. It was the day to go back to Perth, then fly to Sydney.

We got up at around 7 am and began cleaning the whole cabin. If cleaning was not enough, the fine would be 20 dollars, so we cleaned the cabin carefully.

It was raining and we left the farm without having breakfast. We stopped on the way to Perth and had breakfast in the car.

It was raining in the morning, but it lit up on the way. Tracey had an appointment in Perth, so she stopped the car at the parking lot of a railway station named “Guildford.”

Kikko and I took a train to Perth from Guildford, while Tracey went to Perth by car. We would go to see the city by ourselves, while she had the appointment, then we meet again at Perth Station.

The railway connects between Perth and Midland. Midland is a suburb in Perth. It took about 30 minutes to Perth.

I saw a couple of white birds (possibly parakeets) having their baby bird in their nest from the platform. When I took their pictures, I realized that the battery of my camera was gone.

Too bad that I could not take any pictures in Perth. The city of Perth looked modern and clean. I found a spacious public bathroom on the street. It was clean and nice, but the door would automatically open after 10 minutes since you began using it.

I went to a bank in Perth to change currency (from yen to Australian dollar). We did some shopping in Perth, then went back to Perth Station.

Tracey came to the station, picking us up, then took the train again to go back to a nearby station where she left the car.

We had lunch at a local restaurant. It was a Japanese and Chinese Takeaway restaurant named “Blue Jasmine.”

The clerk working there was a Japanese girl. She came from Chiba for “working holiday.”

We had “udongうどん” “sushi寿司” and “agedashi-tofu揚げ出し豆腐” there. We had a pot of “green tea” by 4 dollars. I felt expensive, but it was in Australia, so it could not be helped.

The food was good and it looked quite popular among local people.

Tracey sent us to the airport. We said goodbye to her, then we headed for Sydney, where my son and his family were waiting for us.

We landed on Sydney Airport at 10:30 pm. My son Hajime and his wife, Louise were waiting for us at the exit.

It took about 30 minutes from the airport to their house in Chatswood. Their children were already sleeping, but a picture which one of our granddaughters drew was on the door, saying “Welcome, grandparents.” Thus our vacation in Sydney began.
