131207 HamBaekSan함백산[咸白山], Taebaek (태백太白)and Jeongseon (정선旌善) in Gangwondo(江原道)

Mountain: HamBaekSan함백산, Taebaek and Jeongseon in Gangwondo

Course: Ssarijae – Dumundongjae – EunDaeBong – Junghambaek – HamBaekSan (1573m) – Manhangjae (10km, 5 hours)

Now winter sets here. It’s rather cold even in Daejeon. I felt lazy and went to the bus-stop at Expo South Gate by taxi.

It’s within 10 minutes, but it cost 5500 won. I should go by bicycle next time.

The seats were almost all occupied. A female hiker sat next to me. She introduced herself as Bright Smile (밝은 미소); nice nickname.

A young member became “Best Member” since it was his 10th hike.

We had breakfast at a service area. I joined them and ate a pack of rice provided by AhToSan.

The chartered bus went well until 3 kilometers to the destination; Ssarijae, but it stopped there.

The altitude was rather high and the surface of the road was frozen. So we all got off from the bus and began walking there.

Since it was a highway, it was not too steep to walk, but as usual, I had difficulties and became last two hikers, together with “Bright Smile.”

All members were waiting for us at the entrance of the trail. So, I hurried to set my tripod and set 10 second self-time, then the tripot fell down with camera, oh, no! My favorite camera was crashed on the concrete road!

Fortunately, I had an extra camera with me, so I could take pictures after then.

Yet, I was shocked, and it was my first time to put climbing irons and spats for this winter, so it took extra time.

Again I became the last hiker with 2 big guys, and J-nim, a kind staff member of AhToSan, walked with us.

The trail was not too steep, just gentle up and down, once I climbed the first peak.

The snow-covered mountains were really beautiful, and the trees with frost were beautiful, too. I arrived at EunDaeBong at 12:30, and went farther rather fast. I left 3 members behind me, and over passed 3 female hikers, and 3 more male hikers behind me.

Then I saw a small group of people having lunch at the side of trail. I asked if they were AhToSan members. They said yes, so I joined them.

It was a family with 2 kids, 6th grader and 3rd grader of elementary school.

Their father must be around 40 years old, tall, and nice looking. Another guy was cooking ramen with a burner.

I ate cup-noodle and rice with them. J-nim and two men joined us.

After lunch, I started first among this group of people, but they caught up with me.

We arrived at the summit of HamPaekSan all together, but strong wind was blowing there.

There was a strange shaped (like a sile) monument on the summit and good looking round-shaped landmark near the summit.

Then we began descending the mountain. I am good at descending mountain, so I arrived at the foot of the mountain, first among last group.

I waited for other and offered fruits such as strawberries and small tomatoes for “Suzuki Time.”

Ruchi and three female members as well as other male members joined me.

From the forest road, the female hikers and Ruchi and I walked along the forest road, while some other hikers walked on the low hill along the road.

We arrived at the parking lot at 3:10 pm. The bus picked us up and went to the place where other hikers were having “wrap-up”party at a garden of private house.

We had “kimchi jige”and “gare-ttok” and soju for the party. I joined the top group’s table, and enjoyed the party.

We finished the party at 4 pm and went back to Daejeon by 7:40 pm.

I took 606 bus to Shinseongdong at 7:45, very good timing.

It was my 60th hike for this year and 335th time to join AhToSan regular hike.

This hike, "Rusu(流水)" a good photographer took many beautiful pictures and uploaded to AhToSan site.

登山コース：サリジェ(싸리재)[トゥムンドン(두문동재) - 銀台峰(ウンデボン은대봉) - ジュンハムベク(중함백) – 咸白山(ハムベクサン함백산) - マンハンジェ(만항재) [10km 、 5時間]

いよいよ冬山シーズンの到来である。朝6時出発だが寒くて自転車で行く気がせず、タクシーを使った。

タクシー料金5500ウォンはやはり高い。次回は自転車にしようと思う。

座席はほぼ満席で申請者45名でドタキャンが3名。したがって42名。この寒さでしかも早い出発だが、登山に対する情熱はすごい。

途中の休憩所でみんなといっしょに朝食を食べた。バスのなかでは比較的若い会員のベストメンバー表彰式があった。

バスは出発予定地の3キロ前までは順調に走ったが、道路の標高が高いのと、路面凍結のため、3キロ前でストップ。全員下車して出発点のサリジェ(싸리재)[トゥムンドン(두문동재)まで歩いた。

私が最後から2番目で、バスで私の隣に座った女性(澄んだ微笑?)が最後に「集合写真」に入ろうとした時、三脚がカメラを載せたまま倒れてしまった。

ちゃんと三脚の安定を確認しなかった自分がいやになる。幸い、予備のパナソニックカメラでこの日の後の写真がとれた。

カメラのショックもあり、またスパッツとアイゼンの装着の不手際もあって、出だしが大幅に遅れ、後尾大将のJニムに世話になった。

尾根に上がると本格的な冬山の様相で、以前バス内で隣に座った大男と彼の同伴者をJニムの写真を撮りながら進んだ。

尾根のアップダウンはあまりなく、比較的楽な山行だが、最初の遅れはなかなか取り戻せない。

銀台峰(은대봉)に到着したのは12時半ごろだろうか。後尾グループの間で写真を撮った。

途中、新顔の男3人組と女3人組を追い抜き、私の後ろが9人になったころ、進行方向左手の開けた場所で昼食をとっているグループを見つけ声をかけた。

アトサンだと言うので彼らに合流した。今回初めて参加した4人家族を含むグループで、小学校6年生と3年生の兄弟がいた。

父親は40代の背の高い男性で、同行していた年配の男性がラーメンを煮ていた。Jニムらも合流し、約1ダースほどの人数で食事をとった。

昼食後は私が最初に出発したが途中で追いつかれた。咸白山山頂の手前は岩や木の様子が素晴らしかったが、山頂は強風で実に寒かった。

頂上で親子連れの写真を撮った後、Jニムと認証写真を撮り合ってから下山を開始した。

下山を開始してまもなく、女性3人組の一人の足が攣って、3人がかりで治療している所を通った。

足が攣ってもそんなに派手に治療を要するとは思えないが、治療のかいがあったとみえ、後に元気に歩いてJニムや私に合流した。

平坦な麓に出てから、休みどころで後続を待ち、持参したいちごとミニトマトとパプリカを出した。

このあと舗装道路に出て、一部は尾根伝いに、ルチや女性3人組と私は舗装道路沿いにバスの待つ駐車場まで歩いた。

打ち上げ場所は駐車場からすこし下った民家で、我々はバスに乗り、その民家まで連れて行ってもらった。

打ち上げ担当はKS夫人で、メニューはキムチ鍋。アツアツの豚肉がうまかった。

私は先頭グループのテーブルだったようで、飲み物は最初から焼酎にした。

バスに乗ったのは3時10分だったので歩いた時間は4時間だった。

打ち上げは4時に切り上げ、南門には7時は40分に戻った。

ちょうど606番バスが7時45分に来て、8時には新城洞へ戻った。

カメラを壊したのはショックだったがこの冬初めての登山、無事に終えてなによりだ。

今回は今年60回目でアトサン定期山行の参加回数は335回目である。

なお、以下の写真は、アトサン会員の「流水」氏の作品で、アトサンのサイトからダウンロードしたものである。

彼は実に芸術的な写真を撮り、その1枚1枚に「流水」のサインが入っている。とても素晴らしい作品だと思う。
